Default Should i cut factory springs

Hello everyone,

i purchased new 20" rims and tires; spent a bundle, but i want to lower the z especially the rear 1".

I was thinking of purchasing eibach pro kit springs which lowers
1" front and rear, but can't spend the money including installation.

I was also considering having the factory springs cut, aligned and save money, but worried if not a good ideal.

I would apprciate anyone's input and comments.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Great first post!

Cutting springs is never a good idea. Posting about it isn't a good idea either. Good luck!

lowering springs are too cheap to resort to these kinds of methods.

Until you can afford correct springs, don't even think of lowering the Z. Cut springs aren't even a good idea for Hondas.

Springs are cheap. Have a buddy help you install them. They are pretty easy.

i have seen a few roadsters that looked decent with 20's, i dont see the point in getting a z if u wanna put big heavy out of place 20's on it..its just not the car for 20's imo in any way shape or form..19's and a nice drop all the way!!!

Yes you should. Shorten them all by about 2 inches.

What you *can* do is cut the rear springmount to even the car out.

Search for "springmount mod"- there's plenty of people who have done it and it's fine.

Do not cut the springs themselves, please.

Allow me to justify the 20's. I wanted 19's, but I got a great deal on Hyper Mesh Black rims with Falken 452's and took it. The car looks good, the ride is perfect, it just needs about 1.3 inch lower on the rear, the front is OK. The rims are not anchors as they weigh 4lbs more than the factory and the Z gets lot's of looks and compliments.
Believe me when I say I did not want 20's, but now I must say, a good decision.
Email me to 123@EFmiami.com and I'll send you some pic's for your review. Thanks

P.S. I decided to go with Tanabe Springs with a 1" drop for front and 1.2" drop for rear.
I was considering Eibach, but after further review, the Tanabe are a better fit.

Don't forget about the needed camber kit for slamming your ride.

I appreciate your response and one can't do much on opinions. Some have great feedback and one or two are just punks. They need to respond as men/adults and leave your negativity where it belongs; you know where.

Thanks again.
