Does Hawk make HP+ front brake pads for the 350Z?
I'm trying to find a set locally and the store claims Hawk doesn't make HP+ pads for the 350Z.
Is this true? They do have the HPS pads though, for $166CDN for front & rear pads.
Assuming the store is wrong, which pads are better for street driving & occasional track days (maybe once a month or so in the summer).
So the questions are:
1) do HP+ pads exist for the Z?
2) assuming they do, HP+ vs HPS?

Showing HP+ in a rear fit, but nothing front at this time. Only front's I see are HPS and the ceramic.
HPS would work for an auto-x or very mild couple lap session, but wouldn't push past that. I had HPS on my G coupe and ran a 2 mile road course. Did ok but after two or so laps they started to fade quite a bit.

Do you have any other suggestions? I need pads that would last a full 3hr track day session.
How are the Hawk Ceramics? Are they more geared towards track day?

Thanks for the inputs.
It's wierd, I've been doing my own research on the web and some people say that the HPS is better than the Ceramics for track day while others say the opposite.
Are there any other brake pads from other brands that I should consider?
Thanks

I got Carbotech xp12's for my 07 touring. They have lasted 8 full sessions so far and the pads have barely worn. No fade.

Really would depend on your budget - a truly track worthy pad for an 06 + car is not going to be inexpensive unfortunately, and since choices are very limited, you may find an outright upgrade is the better long term solution
If you're brand new to doing track events, I'd suggest not changing anything on the car yet - just flush the fluid out completely and make sure fresh stuff is in there, and let the instructor guide you towards learning lines, brake points, etc.

I'm looking for pads that can be used on the track & street. It should be able to work at street temps, but be able to handle a few track sessions in the summer.
Thanks
PS: I plan on replacing the brake fluid to Wilwood high temp brake fluid and stainless steel brake lines.
2006-2008 non brembo brakes are the same front and rear
Endless CCX were replaced by the MX72 compound

I have not used them, but I have run the CCX on my own car (they are in my car now) as well as on many customer cars...however I have not used them on any non brembo car yet so I don't have first hand experience.
There is no CC-R AFAIK for the non Brembo 06 + cars

Thanks! As it turns out the local shop doesn't stock them, but they do have EBC Red stuff. Searching through the forums here, that seems to be good.
Another question regarding stainless steel lines, does brand matter? Or are they all the same and as long as they fit the car, I should be good.

update:
I ended up getting the EBC Yellowstuff pads (front and rear) and Wilwood 600+ brake fluid. I'm using the stock brake lines as I couldn't find stainless steel lines locally.
Both made a huge difference at the track (Shannonville pro-track). The braking was consistent and fade free. However, there was a LOT of heat being generated, more so than the other cars I was with (RX8s).
In fact, the yellow paint on the outer face of the pad (the part that faces away from the car) was bubbling and changed colour. I think the calipers had some discolouration as well due to the heat.
Apart from that, the pads were pretty spectacular. They are great on the street too, no noise at all.

+1 for Hawk HPS being unsuitable for the track. I made the noob mistake of putting in a brand new set of HPS before my first ever track day and completely disintegrated the rear pad and ruined all 4 rotors. Fade was substantial all day long.
+1 for EBC Yellow for being pretty good on the track. I've used these for every track day since and they are pretty fade free when used w/ street tires. I did notice that after a few sessions they aren't "Yellow" any more. The pad is heat resistant but the paint sure isn't.
