Default After the swap of the brembos.. i missed.. something.

i really need some help because i read the recent post about the 'full swap' brembo kit from the 350z with the non brembo.

my full swap is done but when i want to change to the stop tech stainless steel brake lines, it doesn't fit with the caliper, is it because when i swapped i missed the 'rear brembo caliper mounting bolt'? so the lines won't be able to go on?

my mechanic says the other end of the lines goes fine on to the car, but the other end doesn't go on the caliper, so what he means by that is probably that i don't have the rear brembo caliper mounting bolt right? if i do would my brake lines to able to connect?

thanks in advance guys~~

So, the banjo bolt on the caliper side wont fit? Or are you just missing the bolt that attaches the banjo connector to the caliper?

To this I would say call the people you purchased the lines from. They should come with all necessary hardware.

When you say "brembo caliper mounting bolt" I think of the two bolts that fasten the caliper to the wheel hub assembly. This has nothing to do with the brake lines or how they attach to the caliper.

Sounds like you may have non-brembo brake lines , and they WILLNOT fit brembo calipers.

It would help if you described in a bit more detail exactly what you mean.

Do you not have the bolt? Or do you have all the hardware and it's just not fitting. If the latter, then I agree with terramask's comment - you probably have the wrong lines.

i'm not sure if i have the bolt, or maybe i have the wrong lines, but on the package, the part number is right, and mynismo.com says that all stop tech lines for non brembo and brembo are the same, so it shouldn't matter, so what i am thinking if that's the case, i think i don't have the bolt.

just curious, do i need the bolt in order to put the lines on?

Yes, you need the bolt. The following is a picture of a banjo fitting with the banjo bolt (not 350z specific), which should give you an idea of how the brake lines connect to the calipers.

And just FYI, it's a special bolt, not something you can buy at Home Depot.

If your brembo calipers still have the factory hard lines attached to them that could be the problem. They need to be removed and the new brake line gets attached directly to the caliper with the banjo fitting like pictured in the posts above.

I'm about 99.99% sure that the stoptech brake lines are the same for both brembo and non-brembo brakes, so I doubt that's your problem.

+1 on brembo and non-brembos being the same lines. My stoptech lines went on easily on my Brembos. Just don't over tighten them. You can use a torque wrench, even though the instructions say not to. Just make sure it's an inch-pound wrench that you convert the 14 ft-lbs to 168 inch-lbs.
