Angry EIBACH Loweing Springs

DO NOT PURCHASE THESE SPRINGS!!!

They will put your car out of factory spec and no alignment will cure it. I have contacted Eibach Tech Support numerous times and the response I get is that they are working on a fix. This started 1 month ago and I was told it would take 6 weeks. Today I was told it would take 6 weeks.

They never disclosed a known problem with the 350Z springs and as a result after only 2000 miles on my new tires, they are showing extreme wear. I would suspect they need to be replaced in the next 1-2K miles. I also told them of this issue and there response is that they are working on it. All costs are my problem - srpings, 2 different alignments, and now 2 tires after 2K miles.

Any questions please feel free to e-mail me

pretty harsh first post. There at least 50 guys on this site that have bought Eibach Pro Kit springs frm me, and you are the 1st to speak so harshly. Lets see what the rest have to say. Can you be more specific with your issues? Once the thread gets goin I can fwd it to my rep

So you want to take a car with already fairly aggressive suspension settings/geometry and lower it, which always changes camber on any lowered car, and then complain when it can't get back into more docile settings? To me, this is indicative of someone who accidentally bought a sports car when they should have bought a luxury car. There is no fix except not lowering the car unless it is less than .75 inches. Use your head. Next time do some research. I have the Eibachs and there is no problem. You want the performance advantages, you have to take the streetability disadvantages. Do you think that the ATI procharger owners are going to call ATI and ask them when they will have a fix for worse gas mileage? Come on, dude.

I recommend Eibach springs and have used them before. On a car like a VW Jetta or a Lincoln LS you can probably get back into spec, but the Z has some camber in it already and will be able to get close to spec but not all the way. This helps handling anyways. Just rotate you tires more often.

There are set parameters (specifications) for any cars alignment. I saw with my own eyes, the car was at it's maximum adjustment and the alignment was still out. This was done on a brand new alignment machine - each tire had it's own feedback to the machine and it gave a printout showing they were all out. Facts are Facts - the car cannot be correctly aligned without the addition of more aftermarket parts. Not trying to hurt your business, just trying to help the average Z owner and his/her tires.

Mr. Potato Head

You say you have used them before. So you don't have them on your Z now. I understand all of the issues with lowering a car but come on now 2K miles shows excessive wear. Eibach themselves understand there is a problem but the problem I have is that they are not disclosing it. Call them yourself 909-256-8300. As for purchasing a luxury sedan - grow up- I'm trying to help people not throw my childish remarks.

I have had them for 1k miles and they are barely in spec. I would strongly suggest letting them settle for 2-3 weeks before getting an alignment. I like the kit and have seen very positive results on the track from its addition. For $200 you can't go wrong. I agree with Kev and Pot, do you homework and know what you are getting into. If you want to seriously lower your car w/ coilovers, you need camber plates/traction bars anyways.

Check the sig. I do have them in the Z. I was saying I have used them in many other cars as well. These are the breaks. I never said your comments were childish. I think they are resulting from cognitive post purchase dissonance due to lack of research. The facts in your post are all over the Internet forums already. People know. People research, then choose products, then use them, then experience satisfaction or buyers remorse. This is the usual pattern. Sorry you don't like the springs.

Of course they put your car out of spec. Don't tell me you expected the car to be perfectly fine after install. All aftermarket springs and coilovers do this. You should have done some more research before putting aftermarket springs onto your car. I wouldn't blame Eibach for it. Many cars they make springs for will be out of spec and need camber adjustment.

They make the springs and expect you to find a solution to the camber problem. I wouldn't blame them for the camber problem.

You can get camber adjusters from Kinetix.

I would actually like more negative camber, especially in the front

Would a camber kit correct the issue?

i love my Eibach springs..... you have to expect abnormal tire wear when you modify an already aggressive suspension.

I've had mine installed for over 6 months and about 5K mi on my tires and the tires are still in great shape.

Default Hi mile Eibach car here

I have the single highest mile 350 on the board. I presently am @ 40,000 miles.
My factory alignment/suspension wore out my oem Bridgestones by 11,000 miles. I purchased the first set of Eibachs for the 350 in the USA at 15,000 from Todd @ Discount tire. At the same time I moved to Nitto's all the way around as well as 18" rollers.
Presently, I have 25,000 miles on the Nitto/Eibach setup and I am expecting to hit 35,000 + miles on the Nitto's WITH the EIbachs in place. Complaints? Yup, wish I had gone to the Eibachs sooner if they had been available. Regards, Jim

Dude anytime you mess with suspension your 100% going to go out of spec. That's why they make camber kits.. You can't expect Eibach to take responsibility because your car could'nt be aligned, that's retarded. Get a clue and do research before you go posting harsh comments. NOOB! NOOB!

I have another problem, after I installed the Eibach Springs, I would sometimes scrap the bottom of my car when going to high speed bumps and also high drive ways... it wasn't like that before I put the springs on... DO NOT BUY THE SPRINGS!! IT WILL LOWER YOUR CAR!!

We better call Eibach and see when they are going to smooth the roads and remove all speed bumps!

either that or they need to make the springs longer to bring the car back into spec.

Lets turn a negative into a postive ok....

what would be the cheapest camber kit front and/or rear to get the camber correct.

BTW, this is why Nismo S suspension is only .75" drop on all 4 corners. It keeps the car within spec.

Just remember, when you mod your car, you are most likely going to extremes. When you lower a car, you get alignment and scaping issues. When you add hp, you might get reliability, warranty, or mpg issues.
