Default Tearing front compression rod busings - what are my options?

I was under my car the other day replacing a leaky front Koni (2nd replacement under warranty from Koni, thank you very much) and in my usual inspection I noticed my front compression rod bushings are torn on both sides (driver and passenger).

I did a search, and other than one thread where someone fabbed their own solid bushings, I was wondering what my options are. Do I have to purchase a whole new arm, or can I just get a new bushing (stiffer aftermarket if it will benefit me) and press it in? Is a solid bushing even possible at this location given the unique articulation requirements of the joint?

The bushings in question are on arm #10 in this illustration, the inner ones on the body side:

I just found factory replacement bushings, but I still haven't found any good information on whether they can be replaced with an aftermarket option.

Default update

So are they available now (z1 or anyone else?). I need a pair and searched for over an hour 350z sites and google, downloaded Energy Suspensions catalog (they don't have any 350z stuff only up to 300z) - couldn't find anything besides $25 stock bushings unless I missed it due to a poor description. Saw the Nismo hard rubber kit but even that 22 piece set seemed to lack compression rod bushings as far as I could tell. Would rather have something more durable than stock but not solid and expensive like SPL.

Saw Z1's site but not so sure any of those are compression rod bushings.

Also am having trouble locating the Infinity TSB on compression rod bushings. Can only find references to it, not the actual TSB!

Those are the expensive metal ones.

I'm looking for Nismo hard rubber or polyurethene. Should be less than $50 a piece or so...

That bushing articulates in multiple directions, if I remember correctly. You don't want urethane. Rubber or a spherical bearing are your two basic options.

Got it. That explains why people like Energy Suspension don't make urethanes for it. I'll get the Nismo hard rubber if I can just find them.

Were these ever developed
I'm starting to think that either you go stock again or get the metal SPL ones?

At this point with 125,000 miles on the car I'm leaning towards just buying 2 new compression rods and get fresh ball joints out of the deal , not have to buy a shop press so I can do it at home instead of borrow my wife's car and drive 40 miles to work to use the press at work, etc, etc. Spend an extra $150 or so (bushings and shop press vs. more expensive to buy two new compression rods) and turn a day job into a 2-3 hour job and just be done with it Still need to also spend $80 on an alignment anyways and what will the ball joints last at the most, another 1-2 years and at that point a new compression rod is probably the only option for ball joint replacement (always was on any other car I've repaired). If my mind could relax this week I could make a clear decision Am I missing anything? I think this may be the best long term decision and work out same cost or less in the long run!

Also, this isn't probably the best place but it does not really deserve a new thread. After listening to the front end rattle for 6 months in the last 3-4 weeks I also now have a new noise like a humming above 30-40mph that goes away swerving to the left and comes back to the right. Could this be caused by compression rod bushings too as they get worse?

Energy makes nothing for 350Z/G35

there are no replacement compression rod bushings made except SPL's solid ones

http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?m...ng&prodid=4645

or just purchase new compression rods which come assembled with the stock rubber bushings and ball stud at either end. We stock these too if you need 'em (though they aren't on our site)

humming noises - really could be anything, though I'd be inclined to examine front wheel bearings given the mileage

Thanks for the reply!
After searching for a few days I was getting confused and frustrated becuase so many people call the compression rod and translink so many different things and not all parts sites have pics. I think I stand very clear now!
I was leaning towards a wheel bearing too. I'm thinking that would not require an alignment after replacing a wheel bearing, so I'll fix the compression rods whatever way I decide, get an aligment and see if the latest noise goes away too.
