And the weight he would save from drilling two holes in the rear brace would be akin to not driving with socks on; useless.
If that is true why are there braces and roll cages have holes slotted in them. I did it to mine and my Z is braced up. I also have the stance true coilovers. there is no difference that you could notice on a track. I haven't. I do plan of getting a cage in the near future though. and to two holes that I drill weighted 12 oz a piece. so not real weight loss just easier to adjust and not need to bring tools or have extenders. I should say that my rear end is gutted to so if you want to keep the oem look just get the extenders

Did cutting this hole make the suspension "clunk" even louder?

I was actually thinking of filling that cavity up with expanding foam as the clunk is making me insane.
