Default ICHIBA Rear Camber arms FAILED Please check yours.

First and foremost I did not purchase these from the vendor here. I went to Ebay and picked them up. So do NOT accuse any Vendor on this forum. The seller in question on EBAY is CARPARTNATION. I so far have only made a request since I discovered this issue 30 minutes ago to have the rubber bushing side of the REAR Camber arms only replaced since the RUBBER BUSHING side is what has failed.

I even made the offer to cover shipping on my dime and the return shipping of the defective side on my dime as well.

For the complete story: I had these installed about 45 days ago (They sat in a box for nearly 2 months). My rear tires immediately deteriorated to the state of being bald. The camber arms somehow caused my tires alignment in the rear to be pigeon toed. So I broke down and purchased the toe arms from wicked tunning (these parts are complete billet aluminum). I took my car back to firestoned and had it aligned again. At this point it has only been since the 3rd of December. I just installed brand NEW Nitto tires Yesterday.

Myself and several others have been trying to figure out why my car is off. Meaning the tires with the toe arms installed now shifted back nearly 3/4 of an inch. I was over at Dannys (GG) and was discussing the diference in the rear and I stated that the rear driver quarterpanel had been replaced and perhaps that was the reason for the odd appearance. He looked at the camber arms and pointed out to me that it was the rubber bushings in the camber arms that had been completely sheared.

In summary I am going to partly blame firestoned tire repair for the alignment job but I am also blaming the quality of that side of the part for premature failure.

So take this as a warning to inspect your bushings on the rear camber arms to ensure you are not in my situation. My car is still at stock height I have not put coil overs or lowering springs my goal was to simply eliminate the negative camber in both the front and rear. I am on the front Ichiba A-arms and have no issue with those parts as of yet but I will be monitoring them closely.

When installing mine, I noticed the drivers side inner bushing is completely seperated/disbonded from the camber arm. With an upcoming deployment, I chaulked it up a case of "you get what you pay for" and will be buying a set of spc or eibachs before I get back.

Well they did reply with an email that I could send my entire arms back to them for them to send to the distributor. I have been working 70+ hours a week since this occurred so I have not been able to do anything more then go to work and sleep. (my work commute is 3 blocks )

I am investigating an entirely new avenue. Instead of sending the arms back and worry about the rubber bushing failing again I am going to replace that part of the arm with a Heim joint. (probably something the manufacturer should have thought of) and probably a grade 8 fender washer to ensure it doesn't shift or slip again.

I am still trying to toy with the specs before tearing the car apart and having it on jackstands. ( I do have other vehicles to drive but I don't want a car on jacks waiting on parts).

Sorry I forgot to take pics as of yet to show the way they shifted to the back.

Both failed. Sorry for the Delay I have been traveling a bit for the past couple months.

Oh and by the way the company that sold them to me decided NOT to honor a REFUND or Exchange. So I am out the $140 dollars they cost so in short DONT BUY ICHIBA CAMBER ARMS.

G with the Wicked Tuning. I have driven nearly 1400 miles in the last month to St Petersburg, and to Key West and I honestly have to say the ride is actually smoother then stock becuase I am on Hiem Joints and not Rubber Bushings.

My Ichiba front control arms had the same issue, they sent me a replacement pair.

Couple of days ago my Ichiba control arm completely separated itself and dug into my tire. Had to get it towed, car is currently at the shop. Going to get SPL control arms, never buying anything Ichiba again.

Semi-related. I replaced my ichiba y-pipe today. It was a piece of trash that leaked from both flex joints with very few miles on them. I recommend it to no one.
