URGENT: Need Help With 2003 and 2006 Suspension Differences.
I need some help here, fellas. Would the hardware from my friend's 2003 rear strut work on my 2006 strut? As far as I know, the strut is only marginally different in how it works, so I'd assume hardware like bushings and seals should not have been affected/changed.
The reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to get to the very bottom of my excruciating rattle/slap noise. I've done and checked everything, trunk latch adjustment, panels, spare + tools, endlinks/swaybar, etc. I've always had a sneaking suspicion it was something related to strut hardware (bushings, seal/gaskets, etc.), and not the strut itself.
I have a friend with a 2003 350Z part-out, he's also my go to guy when my Z needs work, so I'm thinking of using/buying the strut hardware on his Z and installing it on mine.

Rear shocks are interchangable, but if you get them get his rear springs too. Also if possible get the front struts and springs.

I don't need his shocks/struts. I just need the hardware that's mounted on it. I'm asking if the little parts like the bushing, seal/gasket, bracket and tube-distance absorber mounting are interchangeable.

hummm? seems odd......have you tried spraying lube everywhere.....i got squeaks and creaks that i found came from the aluminum lug mount at the rear camber arm.....i sprayed lithium grease and viola......noises were gone......
do you have any aftermarket rear camber arms?? my noise came from where the rear adjustable aftermarket camber arm attached to the aluminum subframe lug.......where the oem eccentric washer/bolt mounts.....i sprayed all up in there....

I just have Hotchkis Springs. This is neither a creak or squeak, it's a full blown rattle with a slapping noise metal-to-metal. It sounds like something is loose, and I have narrowed it down to the strut.
