Hi all....I am new here. Just purchased 03 350Z based, not too long ago, now deciding to do some upgrade. I am debating between 2 Tanabe coilovers, http://www.more-japan.com/product.ph...at=1636&page=1 and http://www.more-japan.com/product.ph...at=1644&page=1 The first one is about $400 more than the 2nd. I drive my car everyday to work...about 60 miles round trip. So I am asking if someone can help me decide if I should go with the cheaper one or the more expensive one. And if someone knows the advantage and disadvantage, I don't go to the track at all. Will they make my car stiffer than it is now, coz its already stiff enough, but just want to lower about 1-2 inch. Any help will be appreciated.

 

well neither of those are the actual pictures of coilovers that go on the Z(but a general pic)........so for me thats hard to give an accurate review based on not seeing the actual units.

That being said i would research more on the site...there is lots of information on coilovers.

but in general, based on you daily driving, and your assumed pricepoint with those you listed i would look into STANCE.

also take note that dropping the car 1 inch or move you WILL NEED:

REAR:
1. Rear adjustable camber arm. :such as the arm shown here - but this is for both items:

2. Rear spc toe bolt. Shown how to install here:

Front:
with a mild drop like you mention will most likely be okay and sit at -1.7 or so.
to fix you would need front upper control arms. most dont buy these.

If you don't do any tracking and you just want to lower without sacrificing ride quality, I'd suggest a quality set of shocks and coils. It will be cheaper and by what you wrote above, would seem to better suit your needs.

Any reason in particular you're looking at Tanabes?
