A PROPERLY engineered front only bbk would be a great starting point. Stoptech has a front only kit that's designed with the right rotor dia/piston sizes and piston numbers to keep the front/rear bias in check.

I think you need to make sure it's sized correctly.

that's without rotors.. so about 400 for rotors?

dunno what brand of pads i'm getting. i gotta ask..

the only down side of this deal is they come in Black, and i want them in red....

he offered to PC them for $50 each..

that's about $1850

on the other hand, i found 4 oem brembo calipers (almost new) for around $1100.. no rotors, no pads, no lines, just calipers..

so if i go with that, then i need to buy rotors (around $400??) + pads (dunno how much), and brake lines (dunno either)..

so, i'm expecting something around $2000 to make the kit complete.

at this point, i prefer to go with OEM brembo's over Wilwoods.. just a personal reference.

what you think?

That's expensive for just calipers. I purchased a set of OEM Brembo calipers for my brother's Z from a member on here awhile ago for about $750 shipped.

If you get just the calipers you will need the Brembo hardware kit (the pins and clips), SS lines, brake pads, rear bolts, rotors...you'll spend easily another $600+ for everything needed to install the calipers.

You should really consider the Akebono kit. I think it's a great kit with the right rotor/pad combination. For $2139 you get f/r 14" Stoptech rotors, Akebono calipers, SS lines and everything needed for install. Or $1700 for the f/r kit with no rotors so you can chose your own rotor/pad combination.

I'm gonna have to wait on my kit, but SPL had a front and rear Black Stoptech set for a good price. You might be able to get him to break up the clearence sale and get fronts only for a little more than the 1k you have now. I'll forword you the PM.

If I were you I'd pay 1k for a front used stoptech set up and wait for the rears as time goes. Best investment ever made. I purchased fronts only and don't even know if I want to upgrade rears :P since performance is amazing! Anyways, Gluck with whatever you get. Just make sure you get something you are happy with..

EDIT: check this out https://my350z.com/forum/norcal-mark...lwood-bbk.html
