Carbotech's not good?

I just got some pads for the front but when I took it to my guy, he says that the brakes are not bond brakes and that it would be bad to put these on and that I should get bond brake pads.
I got the carbotech for the street. Are there bond versions of this?
My mechanic likes stock brakes and says a lot of aftermarket brakes will squeek.

I have only used the stock pads and HPS, but I have never heard anything bad about carbotech's at the track. (other than price)
They make different compounds though. So if you get a true "track" compound, it won't "bite" well until it's heated up. This can be a problem with street driving.
If you got the right compound for street use, I have no idea what your guy is talking about.

In all seriousness, Carbotech makes decent stuff. You should be ok. Just think, there are many other people running that stuff on their cars and they're ok

Riveted and Bonded are two methods of attaching the braking surface to the backing plate. I personally would go with bonded over riveted. When it comes time for an inspection, you'll find that riveted will fail before bonded if your mechanic would check them the correct way.

pretty sure they are riveted and bonded.
whatever they are, they work. i have pounded the daylights out of a good number of sets and never had an issue.
the only real "issue" with the rivets are they don't allow you to use all of the friction before the rivets will contact the rotors. its not a real big issue though as by that point the pads are so low that they are basically useless anyways.

I love mine, and also beat on them. I only have the XP-10's for track use though, no idea how their street pads perform. A guy at work put the street series (forget the name, bob cat or something?) on his WRX and he loves them, said it was well worth the extra bucks and he just drives on the street.
