Exclamation Struts Needed, Monroe Sensa-Trak?

I need new front struts now in a hurry. The drivers side one blew this weekend and the car is riding horrid now bouncing all over the place.

Im not really into hardcore handling, the stock suspension was fantastic just with aftermarket springs to me, it was great when it was all working good.

Last week I changed the rears to Monroe sensatrak's. My question is should I just get the monroes for the front now too? Do you think there valved like the oem struts? Im not sure if they make them softer for more comfort since there just regular brand struts and not performance oriented. I would think there valved to match the OEM specs right?????

There about 85 bucks each locally.
Thanks

If you put Monroe shocks in the rear why not the front?

Yea I guess im gonna order them tomorrow. Ive been reading alot about them on there site and other sites and there struts seem to be very high quality. Seems they have an impact sensor??? Probably a ball that moves relieving fluid under impact.

Heres a description :

The Monroe® Reflex® struts with the patented Impact Sensor™ Technology combines specially tuned valving and a Fluon banded piston.

The Impact Sensor™ valve has the ability to sense acceleration to improve the handling, safety, and overall ride characteristics of most vehicles. The Impact Sensor™ base valve will sense a bump in the road and automatically adjust the shock to absorb the impact, leaving the shock with greater control when it is needed.

The features of the Monroe Reflex struts make it the superior choice for improved handling, safety, and comfort in all road conditions.

Koni shocks will set you back about $706/4.
Bilstein will be about $778/4.
A $85 shock is good for 30-40,000 miles. Pay now or pay later. No free lunch.

But here's the kicker....they have a lifetime warranty. The only other option is the Tokico Hp's and theres no lifetime warranty on those at all.

As long as they ride like stock then ill be happy. My main concern is that they will be softer feeling or my cushy.

Monroe makes parts for all cars. I use them all the time at my job. Great replacement usually on any car I've put them on.

But from a performance standpoint i have no idea how they perform. I'd put them on my DD 97 maxima in a heartbeat.

OK INSTALLED! Im at a loss for words, the car feels like new again literally! I cant believe I didnt change the fronts long ago. I can now drive over speed bumps again, the car feels so planted and perfect, theres no body roll whatsoever.

Im very pleased with the Monroe struts...Looking at the strut it actually says "Made in Japan" just like the OEM struts that I pulled out. I would def recommend Monroe to anyone looking to swap out there OEM struts/shocks.

To install them I just dropped the translink arm out and unhooked the swaybar, the whole strut just dropped right out. Took me longer to take off the tires them to get the struts in and out.

Anyone else try these? I'm thinking about getting them for myself. I need all four and I was wondering where to get them, and if I could them install them easily. I change my own oil and brakes... but that's about it. Should I get springs too? If so, what kind?

My Z has 105K miles and this will be the first time the shocks/struts/springs will be replaced.

Just installed these too. Supposedly they might only last 30k-60k miles, so I'll update this thread about longevity when they fail. So far they do feel like OEM (my car is not lowered and has stock springs).

If your on stock spring i would have no problem suggesting these, for lowering spring, people need to buy proper struts.

With 105,000 miles on the original suspension you will notice a difference. Brakes work better with new shocks. As far as reliability, shocks seldom FAIL. THey deteriorate over time. That deterioration is so gradual it is difficult to determine good from bad.
