Well no rotors are really an upgrade unless you go 2 piece, and they don't make 2 piece for non brembo cars. Just get a set of blanks, nothing else is worth the money.

I went with the EBC ultimax "black dash" rotors they are slotted only. They were lighter then stock rotors and after long aggressive drives I noticed alot less brake fade over the
stock rotors. I am using the EBC "red stuff" pads as well.

Prior to this I was using the OEM rotors with "red stuff" pads....which preformed good but I'm guessing the rotors added alot of fade when things got aggressive.

+1, if you not upgrading, just stick with blanks. R1concepts.com, can't beat their prices.

i've contacted a few people with the maperformance rotors and all seem to be happy. some mentioned they didnt like the hawk pads though - think they went with ebc pads.
Was thinking of going with the maperformance but advice from some has suggested it best to get the girodisc 2 pc rotor in the vendor classifieds.

I guess it depends on what youre going for. neither of those will give you an upgrade in stopping power due to the decrease in surface area on the rotor, but will give you an increase in heat dissipation.

So if thats what you're going for then both look fine.

When you say "blanks" what does that mean exactly sorry for my lack of terms.

It's likely they're all made by Centric anyway. I'd simply buy "blanks" also (like the ones that come stock) for 50 bucks a piece.

Like the others above, I concur. Go with the cheaper OEM-style from R1. Have a set for Brembos and they work great.

+1 ...no point in upgrading rotors on an OEM brake system... unless it's 2 piece. Save the money for a real brake upgrade later on.

You wont shed any real unsprung weight, nor gain any respectable heat fade-resistance.

OEM 350z brakes are garbage unless they are the Brembo versions fitted with some REALLY aggressive pads & 2 piece rotors.

R1 Concepts slotted rotors. No real upgrade, but they look alittle better than blanks. I'd def at least get slotted for appearence purposes over blanks.

Function heads are gonna give you the "blanks or nothing" reponses....but for function purposes, they are correct.

The more mass on the rotor = more heat dissapation area = better performing brakes. Only thing you can do to "upgrade" is bigger rotors which require bigger calipers = bbk.

i have map rotors with hawk pads, and the two dont mix. Dont get me wrong the performance is way better over stock but not up 2 par for what it should be. If u go with map go with a difference pad stay away from hawk

You have a certain type of Hawk pad, they will not all behave the same way.
