Default Eibach Springs

I was just wondering how many have the Eibach springs, and youor thouoghts on them. Do you guys think they were woorth the cash money dollars? Also, i have heard from a few people that if you replace your springs, you will most likely blow your shocks. Anyone have this happen? what are your thoughts?

Sorry ****, but can I add one more question?

Do the springs make lots of noise?

I just got my eibachs installed yesterday. So far so good. No noise that I notice. The drop is just at the right height for me. The person I talked to regarding blown shocks who install these things told me it should be a non issue since you're only dealing with a 1" drop or so. The major issue from what I have been reading on the boards seem to be camber related. I'll find out about mine when I get an alignment. I'm gonna give it a few more days and let the springs settle first.

My friend has the Eibachs and since I've driven his car, I'll give my feedback. The car feels a bit stiffer and the bounce is gone, but the rear camber is way off and will eat tires like crazy if not fixed ASAP.

Regarding blown shocks, it won't blow your shocks but it will wear them out quick than usual.

Ive had the Eibachs for 4-5 months, really havent had a problem with the tires, the rears were worn when i replaced them at 10k miles, but not really bad on the inside edge, just worn overall mostly from track and spinning the tires.

As for the ride, it is a MUCH better ride, alot less "bouncy and purpousie" and the car handles better, the springs in my opinion are the best bang for the buck and only make the car better.

As far as making noise, not a squeek or peep, they ride nice, handle well and are well worth the money. By far the best mod overall especially for the price.

Did i mention i liked them?

Do any of you guys have a problem going over speed bumps?
I had some aggressive eibach springs on my 3 Series (2 inch I think) and I BOTTOMED OUT ON EVERY POTHOLE! Scrape after scrape. They rubbed and tore up my ft inner splash shields that I had to replace. Will these also be ok with after market 19's?

Well what to you want out our your lowered car? The Eibachs are progressive, so their a compromise on performance to gain the ride comfort and elimination of the bounce. Their final front spring rate is 10% stiffer than stock, so the car will understeer a tad more at the limit since their rear spirng rates is within 3lbs of the stock rear rate. So most of their performance gain is for the sake of a lowered center of gravity, not spring stiffness. If the car's stock ride is a non issue for you RSR offers a .6" drop spring which shouldn't have as much camber issues as a 1" drop spring would. The RSR's also are not progressive and use the same spring rates as stock, meaning of course no undeersteer enhancing increase in front spring stiffness, not that the Eibach's 10% difference is monumental. But lots of owners complain about understeer, adding to it, doesn't make sense. Depends on what you want out of your lowered car.

Also, with either spring being relatively close to the stock spring rates and since they are not lowering severly over stock ride heights, their's little reason for premature shock wear. Not unless the inital soft rates on the progressive eibachs are allowing the bump stops to be kissed in daily driving, which is good reason to ask the speed bump question.

It has been a few months now and no issues, the camber was within spec after alignment and ride is good.

Shocks should not be an issue.
