Hey what's up,
I plan on getting coilovers for my G coupe. On my daily driving car (Accord) back when i modded it, i just slapped on tein basics and the camber wear wasn't bad on it even though my car had no finger gap. Anyways, i know that for the G/Z... anything over 1inch will need a camber kit. I've read alot about suspension on this forum and G35driver... so i plan on getting coilovers, spc rear camber kit with toe bolts for the time being unless i have extra money to get the front too, and sway bars. Would it be a bad idea if i were to only get a sway for the rear? Also i read somewhere about endlinks and bushings would need to be replaced... i didn't know there was so much to do for suspension! Can anyone provide me some info on if new endlinks and bushings are really needed... i don't really know much info on what they do. thanks!

just street driving. i only drive my car on weekends but i figured i'd install and do everything right so i wouldn't have any surprises on turns. i plan on lowering the car to 1 or 0 finger gap. what do you suggest in what i should be doing, Cornell? I'm just trying to learn more.
Edit: i usually don't drive hard on the streets but once in a while i'd probably want to enter the freeway and turn good turns and handle well in that... sometimes cornering hard... really depends on my mood lol.

i hear you... you want the car to feel like a sports car when driving it like one. there is a great never ending debate about using a "true coilover" set up. for almost any drop you will need rear camber arms and toe bolts. i ask about what coilovers you are going to get because with "true" you can get toe arms to eliminate the spring bucket and the need for toe bolts. with "true" it is recommended to replace the upper knuckle on the rear hub. these are just some of the things you want to take into consideration before making any purchases...

Ohhh well i'm debating between BC Racing, Megans, or Stance... pretty much that same company. Hmm i never knew about this whole "true" coilover thing... i thought the only fake coilovers would be sleeves like the ones used in hondas/ acuras.
1 to 1.5 inch drop you will be fine with out the front kit, but you will need the rear. To help your car handle you really only need a rear sway bar, but most kits Hotchkis, motordyne only come in a pair. I would suggest actually buying the pair for full adjustability. Especially since your going to run coilovers.

For the aftermarket sway bars, do I have to get new endlinks? Or can I use the original ones? I don't plan on setting it too stiff... maybe the first or 2nd out of 3 holes.
in most cases you can reuse you stock endlinks. a "true coilover set up" will have the spring mounted on the strut in the rear, but some can retain the sstock configuration with the spring seperate... most STANCE are "true" but now available in stock configuration, BC i believe are stock configuration. don't be scared that STANCE has much lower spring rates in the rear, this is to compensate the change to a "true" set up

Ohhh okay now I understand the true coilover stuff. From what I see, most common coilovers seem to be stock configurations for the G/Z which is shocks and springs seperate. Is it bad to have coilovers that are stock configuration? Yeah for the beginning process, i plan on getting coilovers, rear camber kit w/ toe, rear sway bar at the moment... i don't have enough funds to get the front camber kit and front sway bar but i definitely will get that when i can... From what I've been reading, stuff on the rear has been the most important and making a difference.
neverending debate on true vs stock configuration https://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-...er-or-not.html
I thought for a street suspension, a drop with coilovers will get you really good handling, and that with sways/endlinks you will hardly notice anything on the streets since you wont be pushing it to extremes.
The endlinks are only needed for a large drop or running very stiff on the bars. With just a rear bar you will run the softest setting (about 80% stiffer than stock)
