Enthusiast vs touring suspension
No change at all ive driven 06 enthu and 06 touring that i own and they are exactly the same. They damn sure didnt soften up the shifter etc lol. OP you are imagining things. Is that the only reason you sold your touring because of the "so called" softer suspension? If so at least your imagination is happy i guess thats all that matters.

^I agree. Not sure what these guys are mumbling about. If they took their time to research and look up part numbers, they're exactly the same per year for suspension; touring vs. enthusiast vs. track, etc. same stuff.
Well In 08 the Touring was considerably softer everywhere in the car with much less road feel as well. And yes that's one of the main reasons I sold the car. That's one of the problems with the knowledge that's out there. Most people think it's merely a matter of seats and bose etc. My service writer confirmed this for me on friday. But I guess it's just our imagination haha
Well all kinds of things affect the firmness of the ride. The tire pressure, stiffness of the tire sidewall, condition and valving of the shocks, condition of and type of suspension bushings, etc. Did you actually look at the shocks on your new ride? Maybe they are aftermarket shocks?
I dunno of course it is possible for there to be different suspensions in a same year Touring vs. Enthusiast vs. Track trim... but Nissan certainly doesn't advertise this if it is the case, and it would cost money to have different suspension in each trim level. Most manufactures just do it the same all across. I'm sure the NISMO edition has completely different suspension parts though.
I dunno about your service manager but he could just be blowing smoke out his ***. Who knows... only way to know for sure is to look at the shocks themselves and maybe put them on some sort of test equipment to determine their performance. But beyond that it is all perception, which is affected by so many different variables it's difficult to be accurate. I'm not saying your new ride isn't more firm, i'm sure it is... and I too am one who wants my ride to be firm, but it's still all perception at this point.

I think the entire forum would love to have a list of the differences, since you and your "service writer" are the only ones in the know.

Not quite. I've spoken to many people about this and opinions are split more evenly than you think. About %50 of the folks i've spoken to are sure that the enthu is firmer and %50 not. I didn't claim to be sure. that's why I asked here. Of course, you're very sure of yourself and that's because you own a touring and don't want it called "soft". Mine was soft .That's why I just bought an enthusiast that was firmer, that had no aftermarket shocks that had the same tire pressures, the same tires in fact. You can have the same technical parts the same shocks and springs in fact, and still dial them in firmer and i think that's exactly what Nissan did. For me the case is closed.

This last statement is also incorrect. The VDC operates in the track model in the same exact manner as it does in ever other model equipped with this feature.
