question about the stock shocks
hi, I was wondering if i would be able to just put some lowering springs on my z am i gonna have to worry about the stock shocks maybe blowing out or going bad??
Yes but maybe not right away. I could be a 100 miles it could be 20,000. But either way if you lower your car and use the stock struts you are greatly decreasing the life of them.
While your installing the springs you might as well install the new shocks to save time because the stock ones will fail in a matter of time. Check out the tokico hp's there cheap and that will be a nice little set up or Save up for coil overs while your at it.

All shocks, stock or aftermarket will eventually go out. It's just a matter of time. You can probably get some mileage out of your stock shocks, thought not as much an '08 would be able to get out with the same springs. If you're short on cash, I say just do the springs now and get the shocks later, yes you will have to pay for install fee twice, so you may not be saving much money in the long run.
Actually they only last about 60k , and from day one of use they start getting worse and worse (they don't usually go from perfect to blown). I bought my car to enjoy in the corners, if i was looking for economy where i would leave the struts on my car till they blew, i would have bought a civic.
