Question Which brake fluid to use?

I want to have a fluid flush done on my 2003 Track Pack. What fluid should I use? I track it and I want something with a higher temp rating than stock. I'm confused as to whether a silicone fluid is good or bad, etc. PLease help! Thanks.

What do you mean by "track it"? Full out racing or just laps during a DE?

All you need is a DOT 3 or DOT 4 equivalent fluid. Hi temp fluids are great for racing but because of their tendency to absorb moisture, it's not recommended for the daily driver.

NOT SILICON (or DOT 5) fluids allowed.

Search the Autox/Track forum for more in-depth info on this subject.

Standard Dot 4 is great for the normal DD and even works great on the track. I use prestone Dot 4 in mine and beat my car on the track with good results.

Me too. I had been using the Valvoline Synpower fluid because it had a relatively high BP and have never had a problem with it on track days. Unfortunately, Valvoline stopped producing it a year or so ago and I can't find it anymore. I'm about to swap to the "regular" brake fluid and will just have to monitor it more closely on the track.

Prestone is about 10 degree higher boiling point then Valvoline, i changed over to from Valvoline to prestone about a year ago.

Next step up from OEM would be ATE Super Blue then MOTUL RBF 600. Unless your on r-compound tires, OEM Brembo's/BBK and lapping pads Super Blue will be just fine. The MOTUL is about twice as much as the Super Blue and you won't see any benefit without a higher performing pad.
