Default Camber, Help?

Well I got my TE37's installed and I LOOOVE the improvement they made in the looks of the car, and LOVE how much better the car grips with the S03's.

Problem : Car needs to be lowered a bit ( not TOO bad as is ). The problem with this? The negative camber! Not because of tire wear or anythign like that, but because it sucks the tire WAY to far into the wheel well and IMO looks like crap...

I had parked part way on and off of a driveway entrance and got out to see the rear tire which looked lowered because of this and it was ugly...I mean the gap being gone was nice, but how far it was sucked in was nasty. I have also seen some pictures of lowered Z's with these rims and this one imparticular just really got to me.

Question : What can I do to fix some of the camber and make the tire more flush with the edge of the fender? It is making me not want to even lower the car, but I do want to get rid of the gap. I will not do it though if they are going to be sucked in that far.

Just don't lower your car too much and you won't have a problem. I don't have any problem with treadware on my car. If you do lower it and have too much negative camber then pick up some rods to correct it. lsdunique sells some as does JIC and Stillen.

Will they have them on their websites?

Not worried about tread wear all that much. Just the rims being sucked in.

I know your car isnt that bad at all Jason. Just..I have seen some that are horrible IMO. Not going to post pics or link to their pictures because I do not want to offend anyone.

Also, Stillen only has rear rods? What about the front? Some pictures I saw, were pretty bad in the front as well.

lsdunique (kinetix)has rear camber and traction rods. You can PM him for more info: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....ight=lsdunique
Stillen has camber rods: http://www.stillen.com/sportscars_de...d=31142&page=1
JIC has rear toe, camber, and traction rods: http://www.jic-magic.com/productsjic_armrod.htm

I think 350EVO may have some rods as well.

I don't think there is currently a solution for the front. A little negative camber is not a bad thing.

I know its not bad. I am fine with a bit of negative camber. But not when it sucks the top of the tire compleatly inside the wheel well!

Drop your car over .8" and you are out of factory spec thus a good reason NISMO S suspension is dropped that much exactly.

I dropped mine 1" all 4 corners, look better but even after alignment it is .5 degrees out of spec with negative camber. This will make it handle on a track better but might reduce tire wear by lets say 20%. Rotate tires onto opposite wheels is a solution to gain back part of the tire life.

By what you are saying, it seems like your wheels have offests that the main cause for being pulled under the fender, not camber adjustment. Post pictures of them, lets see how it looks because it is hard to make an accurate comment based soley on what you said. I hope it is not your offset, that is an expensive fix.

Well what offset would it be? My wheels are 19x8.5F 22mm. 19x9.5R 35mm. I would be disapointed with the person who sold me the wheels if it does cause a problem. I specifically said I did not want the rim tucked into the fender much at all and he said it would not be, and not much after a drop either.

Right now, it is BARLY inside the edge of the fender at all in the rear.

Also, I am now planning on the nismo S tuned suspension. Is $1,500 the best price available? From courtesy parts?

No way man. You should be able to score the S-Tunes for around $1,200 or less. Check with Jeff at Performance Nissan or Mike at Gruppe-S. BTW- you should sign up for track day at Thunderhill on Dec 20th to try out the new wheels and suspension.

If you go with the S-Tunes you should not have to worry about too much negative camber. Raceboy and droideka both have S-Tunes you might check with one of them to be sure.

How can I lower my car some? Is it possible to do it with a camber tractions suspension arm kit ? I always thought the suspensions dictates how low the car sits. I want to get rid of some of the black space in the wheel well.

To adjust the front camber you need to replace the upper arms.

Esprit, Kinetix (lsdunique), JIC has these adjustble upper arms.

What if I were to just get wheel spacers instead? Since I don't care about having the negative camber, wouldnt that puch the tire back out so it is not sucked in??

Or am I compleatly wrong...

If I am right, where can I get some spacers? (Probably rear only)

If you want your wheels to be more flush with the fender taht would require a different Offset. I guess you can use Spacers of some kind like on the track model.

As far as alighnment. I scanned this today. it might help?

It is the alignment spec's off the stock suspension. but when lowering the car you want to then re-adjust so they are the same.

Soo..Where can I get some spacers? The track has spacers on it? Then that would mean I co8uld get some from NIssan, question is, are they the right size.

Thank you for the chart. I will give this to the people who align the car once it is lowered.

Jsn350z, Hrm Los Gatos is about 5 hours from our dealership so I cant tell you to bring your car in. I mean you can if you want to. But I am not sure what exactly you will need / if you can get it for your volks.

We do have the S-Tune suspension if you want that I can help you with that purchase.

here is a thread I think will help you on the wheel spacers and volks. Just did a quick search for ya

NISMO S-Tune drop, 18x9.5 +35 in the rear. I don't see anything wrong with that. Do you even understand the function of camber?
