Fellow members this is a definitely a rookie question but i just want to feel comfortable that I won't be getting ripped off...I just received a set of Tein h-tech springs and will be waiting for a set of Tokico d-spec shocks to come through this weekend. I live in Jersey and have access to a ton of local shops, so how much on average should I be expecting to shell out for the spring/shock install on an 06 350z? feedback would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks for the quick feedback..I was also taking that into consideration because there are additional mods I will be planning within the next few months..I understand everyone must make a living its just that the trust is not there based on my past experiences at other shops..I'm hoping this is a setup which I will be happy with...

If you checked the regional forums there are recommended shops and even local members which would probably treat your car better than most shops when it comes to installing your mods and possibly at a lower price.

Im from NJ (Somerset County) and there are NO shops that i would recommend to have this done specifically for sports cars. Your best bet is to do it yourself. Dont cheap out on work like this, because you get what you pay for. DEFINITELY stay away from Auto Image and Auto Creations down in Hillsborough or w.e. near the somerville circle. What monkeys over there. Honestly, the only shop i know that i would ever let touch my suspemsion is OK4WD out in Stewartsville. They do a lot of suspension work, even on regular cars and sports cars. BUT i have only used them for work on my old jeep and they always did great work. Good people and great service. Check them out at ok4wd.com.

3-4 hour install times price of labor so you're looking at around 300 bucks. Of course, it will vary from shop to shop. I'd suggest trying to find a local member or anyone familiar with the install. It's not hard to diy...

Thanks for the quick responses. I would do it myself but don't have the tools to do so..I have moderate mechanical knowledge..Off to research ..By next week I should have a set of bronze work emotion cr installed wrapped on falkens and car dropped.really need to shout out frsport.com and cvrmotorsport.com. Their service and shipping speed was great. Just hoping bronze on silverstone is a good look cause it's too late to turn back..lol wheels are coming in tomorrow...thanks again everyone

Minimal tooks are needed, for less than $100 you can have the tools you need and save money on the install.

12, 14, 17, 19 mm wrenches and sockets, a jack and a bit of common sense and done. Seriously the back took me 17 minutes to do the back. The front took about 2 1/2 hours.

My advice: DIY as much as possible. Do your research; buy tools & parts; then get er done!! This way you'll learn how to worlk on your ride....and you'll build a nice tool set in no time!!!

Yeah gotta second the fellow who said do it yourself. A fist full of sockets and a large rachet are all you need. Use your Jack in your trunk if you gotta. Back took me 10 minutes eah and the front were easy schmeezy. The only part that might give you a hard time would be getting the top nut holding the spring and strut together. Not having air tools I just took em to a local shop and they spun em off for free for me.
Not only do you gain valuable knowledge about your vehicle but should anything cause a problem you can deal with it on your own rather than paying out the **** for some schmuck who doesn't care about your vehicle to hopefully do a good job. Honestly it seems like an intimidating job but it's all simple bolts.
Congrats on the dspecs though. Got them myself and they are fantastic. Make sure to get the extentions for the rears though or else you will have to drop the shock everytime you want to adjust the damping. Or you can drill a hole in the rear strut for a long Allen wrench. Extentions look
much nicer comming out the rear strut
IMO. Good luck!

I don't know the guy but if you don't want to buy the tools, at least he can make a little pocket change and you can do some of the work yourself. Basically the same think i do for the Vegas guys.
