What causes this to happen to tires?
Was on Pro-Kits and now Sportlines for the past 1,000 miles or so. Front wheels.
The previous owner installed the Pro-Kits and got an alignment, I have yet to get an alignment since I installed the Sportlines but this was already happening. Unfortunately I have no idea what the alignment specs are since he didn't save the print-out.
However, you should be able to get toe to zero with factory parts, correct? I was under the impression that only toe would cause something this drastic to happen!
Thanks!
John

Feathering is an alignment issue, not a year issue. Any car/truck can have a feathering issue if the alignment is out. Also bad shocks can cause that. Your could be alignment (most likely ) and possibly bad shocks (are the stock shocks still installed with drop springs)?

Thanks for the help everyone.
I realize I need an alignment after each spring install, etc. One is on the way. I just installed my new springs a week or so ago and am waiting for my new tires to get here to install my camber arms, etc., then off to the alignment shop.
My concern is rooted in the fact that this was happening before I installed these springs. So I guess the only possible conclusion here is that the previous owner got a shoddy alignment done, or according to one of you, my shocks could be blown causing the feathering? BTW the wheels/tires are in balance. I just wanted to make sure I could alleviate this issue with a quality alignment up front, that my car wasn't broken somehow, and that I didn't need to buy any additional parts.
Thanks again,
John
