Default What are wilwood 6 piston calipers worth?

I don't know too much bout them but someone local is selling a set of calipers only. I know it will cost a pretty penny just to get the mounting hardware and rotors alone. Why do u all think a good price is.

Are they new or used?

New - check with vendors to see what full set goes for, then factor in what it will cost for you to get the missing pieces.

Used - check the Marketplace->Brakes forum to see what people are trying to sell them for.

Brake calipers with missing parts? That would be worth nothing to me.

Depends some on what model Wilwood six pot it is. There are about four or five versions of them actually....Full size lug mount, full size radial mount, narrow body radial, narrow body lug mount and even a narrow outer body radial mount full size. (yea I know them pretty well..)

In short you can expect that a 'used' caliper will be worth roughly half of the normal retail price- generally the case with any used part: half of new. In rare circumstances some parts may garner more money and others less; the simple laws of supply and demand.

Knowing a bit more of what model it is would help in establishing a price point however I must say that if one were to buy them with the intent of then buying "all the other parts" to make a true factory kit that would be rather foolish unless you got them for a steal. The sum of the parts will always exceed the kit price.

I will try and get some more info on them. The picture below is all he has. He is asking $500.

That is an 8000/8001 model.
Used on the factory kits, radial mount and fits the 16mm pad.

$500 for the pair is a very reasonable price given they look to be in good shape and of low use. New they'd list for about $410ea.

The model shown is also the older (some say preferred) milled logo and not the newer stenciled logo. May make rear kit matching a bit of an issue for the purist.

Only negative on purchase for a Z car; they must be FS models and not say 120-8000 RS on the body. Confirm 8000 RS and 8001 RS before purchasing.

Anything else?

I got mine from this outfit:
http://www.g35brakes.com/

It is probably a lot easier buying a kit for your car instead of trying to get brackets and stuff made. I think Fastbrakes makes a Wilwood kit, too.

I would buy the wilwood factory kit from Todd at TCE before i thought about the ones you posted. The ones TCE sells are all wilwood parts, rotors etc etc, thats means replacement parts are readily available as long as wilwood is together.

Who makes the rotors for the ones you posted? Are they always going to be around?

Those would be the body half part numbers not the finished product number. The finished number will be harder to find on the parts if they are powder coated. The body half numbers won't tell the whole story without some further investigation. One would think the seller would have the boxes....with the finished numbers on them.

Without all the info or having someone like myself look them over for accuracy I wouldn't jump all over the deal. *Be happy to do so if he wants to send me one and you pick up the shipping cost.

Buy an RS model part and you're screwed.

I would assume the ST40 but I'm not a Stoptech guy. Call Eric over at their offices and ask him.
