Red 370Z 40th Anniversary Calipers ... What do you think?

What do you guys think about this set? It has a 25-40 day wait, but is actually available for purchase. If you were to get the Akebono BBK, would you rather have these or the regular black calipers? Oh yeah, I have an SMB and not wanting to powdercoating and all that. Thanks in advance for the input.
Just under $1150 for 4 calipers shipped, so about the same as the regular Sport calipers. Just trying to figure out if they would look good on an SMB--black Nissan letters and all.
From what I understand the 370Z Akebonos tend to run hot (they wrap the rotor very tightly), there is debate on their role in the Car & Driver crashed Nismo, and not much pad selection yet. Not sure if these are just rebranded 370z Akebonos but I'd stick w/ Brembos or other BBKs IMO. Looks-wise reminds me of the 300ZX calipers, but nothing special.

If you are going to track the car, I would say no. If you just want them for better street braking and looks, then yes. They stop very well, but aren't as strong as some of the aftermarket ones.

These Akebonos with upgraded pads, lines, rotors, and fluid should be fine even on light tracking. Just wondering if the overall paint cheme would look good on a SMB
. But yeah, they remind of the the 300ZX brakes as well.

I get C&D. In the follow up they speculated that the REAL cause of the crash was NISSAN trying to cheat the EPA ratings of the car and not giving it adequate brake cooling ducts which would have increased the car's drag co-efficient.
obivously the lighter the color, the more prone it is to showing dirt
As for those calipers, the kit has been shown to be inferior to the stock brembo's - and there are not many good upgraded pad options available for them (nor a wide selection of rotor upgrades either). Plus, they weigh a TON. Personally, I'd pass unless all you're doing is parking lot pimping, in which case, brakes hardly matter
