Default Adjusting Front Strut Bar

was working under the hood and had to temporarily disassemble the front top strut bar. reinstalled the strut bar that goes over the top of the intake plenum. there's an adjustment on the stock strut bar. how does it properly get set? have searched the forum but found nothing regarding adjustments. the strut bar was installed neutral and have the option of adding pressure to the strut bar by shortening it so the bar pulls in or lengthening the bar to put push pressure on the right and left towers. anyone know how to set it? Thanks

The front sway bar is under the motor not on top of it.

Moved to proper forum

That's the front strut or tower bar, not sway bar.

Install it, then tighten the adjusting nut (center between two lock nuts) about 1¾ turns then tighten the lock nuts to hold. BTW - tightening is toward the front of the car, loosen it toward the back.

You're adding pressure to the front strut towers, not tension.

And, it ain't rocket science. As long as you get it close, it will be fine. A bit of clearance under the upper plenum, or engine cover, and you will be OK.

The instructions for installing the tower bar are on page 20 of section FSU of the service manual (2007).
