Default anyone replace their front tie rod?

i was wondering if anyone replace their front tie rod. if so, what did you use and how much did you pay? when i took my car into get an alignment.. my mechanic showed me my front wheel wobbles a little tiny bit.. left vs right side. is this something the mechanic can tighten up? or will i have to get a new one? thanks.

The Z doesn't have a plain tie-rod. It's all part of the steering rack. Check this diagram out...

Looks to me like you can replace either the inner tie rod (49521K) or the outer tie rod (49520K), depending on where the looseness is. Just to be on the safe side, it's probably best to replace any part that has enough play to be seen. You'll have to remove the boot on the end of the rack to inspect the inner joint.

There's no way to adjust them to make them tight again.

so it's probably best to replace both the inner and outer rods?

Really depends on the use. We have the Tein setup on Adam's car and they work just fine. Keep in mind one is a complete set and one is just the outers.

so when i purchase this do i need to order 2 sets for both the right and left? or just 1 set? thanks

When I bent my TRE the local shop quoted me $300+ for the job. I ended up doing it myself. Pretty easy except you need a special tool. I was able to rent the tool at Kragen (oriely) for free. Just tell them its for a TRE.
