This may seem like a really dumb question, but it needs to be asked. I'm about to take my Z on a cross country trip but I'm not comfortable driving the car long distance with the wheel/fender setup I have. My rear fender sits about half an inch off of my rear tires and rubs when I hit medium/large bumps. I'd like to know if there is any way to raise the rear end 1/2 to 1 inch just for the trip? Should I have air shocks installed to adjust the ride height? I'll probably get some flaming for this but I really do need some help.
Cross country from Hawaii, very interesting. Could have FAIL all over it.
Well just crank you coilover up a bit, and make sure you get it aligned after or you won't have tires when you get to your destination.

I'd just go back to stock.
They make spring spacers you can install on your lowered springs to get it to ride a bit higher, but you won't get back 2-3" of clearance or anything. I actually don't really like them all that much as I've had them fall out while driving once. Maybe it was just a fluke though, as after the quick re-install I went on a ~200 mile long cruise over all kinds of roads and they stayed in the whole time.

The trip is actually from Arizona to Kentucky, about 1800ish miles. Normally it takes me about 2 days to drive. I am on a stock rear suspension, I already pulled the drop springs off of it and put the stocks back on. The reason I have to drive it is because its too low for a shipping company to truck it across, and she's too wide for a uhaul trailer. This is the link to the posted pics of my car for anyone who can help...

The Nismo Z33 & Z34 both have spring spacers used for transport from Japan.
Do you think you could use these for your purpose?

A easy fix for in the rear for a 03-04 Z that does NOT have the revised suspension would be to install the rear springs from a G35 sedan with sport suspension. Same exact spring rate, but 1" gain in rear height.
Another easy solution that does not involve binding any of the coils in the spring would be 3/8" thick coil spring pads that are 5" in diameter from Energy suspension. Simply pull out the oem rear upper spring seats, install on or 2 of the Energy spacers and reinstall the oem upper spring seat, done.

I had to leave Hawaii, picked up the car in Cali, drove to the in-laws in Arizona, and thats where she currently sits.
