Default Stoptech BBK help!!!

How y'all doin'? I own a stoptech BBK ST40 on my Z 2005 base and I just want someone to double confirm if the brakes that I installed in my Z works with the 2005 G35 Coupe AT Base. I have read it here before that the G35 shares the same chassis and axles, brakes etc. Ive tried calling stoptech and emailing But it seems to take forever for them to reply. Thanks y'all for the help! God Speed...

Affirmative, the stoptechs will work on the g35 which shares the same stock brakes as the 350z.

i think you are incorrect in this instance.

the 2005 G35 base model uses the brakes that are used on the 2006-up base 350z. hence they are far different than the 2005 350z.

a quick check shows the part numbers for a stoptech 14" st40 kit are different for the 05 z than the 05 g. however the part numbers are the same for the 06 z and the 05 g.

so yes, they will bolt on, but they will not be correct.

Thanks for the replies gents... the main concern is SAFETY and COMPATABILITY... will it bolt on and improve the braking distance of the 2005 G35 if installed by a BBK that was installed in the 2005 Z? thanks again...

You do realize that reduced stopping distance is only significant on the track, right?

LoL that's why we always have to keep our distance... Lets not go off track here... I still haven't gotten a concrete answer. Did anybody out there have installed a OEM brakes from a 2005 350z Base into a 2005 G35 AT Base?

The hats, brackets and lines are the same between the G35 and 350Z for all model years. The changes occur in the caliper piston sizes to accommodate the larger OEM rotors and calipers in the later model years. If you are installing a front only kit, it is imperative the correct kit be installed as it can make the car perform significantly worse than stock, affect ABS and VDC and possibly create a severely rear biased situation. If its a 4 wheel kit its not as significant, but still not ideal to run the incorrect kit.
