Thinking of lowering touring roadster with Iboch and camber kit. Will this do anything to the car with respect to handling, the traction control system etc? Anything I should watch out for?

Not at all, it will actually improve your handling.. less body roll. just watch out for steep driveways.

^^ if youre dropping with springs.. i would wait a week or so to let it settle then do the alignment. I learn the hard way when I got my tanabe GF210 ... but good thing i have unlimited alignment at firestone =]

lowering a car does not necessarily equal better handling...and in fact can make it worse.

lowering the car will change the handling. after lowering my car i felt like body roll went down significantly. i'm still adjusting to the different feel of the car now. i'm not a techincal person at all. but it feels as if the car feels heavier. doesn't make sense but the only way i can explain it. but over all, a great mod to price ratio imo. the z is getting more rock chips than ever now. =(

i did read up a little bit about that. and how lowering the car too much can negatively affect handling. i used Stance Gr+ to lower the car. do you know or is there an optimum drop to achieve the "best" roll center for the z. i'm assuming that everything probably comes into play like wheels, sways, alignment specs. but im' curious to know if theres a standard measurment that "if you drop it past ___ inches the cars handling will be negatively affected."

Watch out they are known to back out of the "Lifetime" in that lifetime alignment.

I think the 1 inchers (Eibach) are ok, more than that may start to degrade the car's balance. I think the .75 inch drop is about the sweet spot as far as ride height goes but most shy away from those because its not low enough (for looks).

for starters, don't get your car aligned at a franchise ever (firestone).
this should be handled by professionals only. just bc you're in the green
does not mean the car is aligned.

secondarily, springs will definitely impact the way your car performs.
you may like the new feel, or you may hate it.

try finding a lowered Z and ask the owner for some wheel time.

i'd let you drive mine just to watch your face light up. that said, i've got
more than a set of springs.

whenever you mod a car you open a can of worms - i.e. tires, alignment, etc.

what is your ultimate goal?

you might be a great candidate for nismo oem suspension or
tein basic coils. depends on what you want.

Thats your compression rod bushings blown due to the change in suspension geometry.

Looking into the Megan and Moonface roll center for my car, but will probably start cutting and moving pickup points to remidy this.

interesting. i'm pretty sad now. i'm researching about compression rod bushings as we speak. i've been doing the all work on this car myself. but its my first modded car. so i'm learning as i go. hopefully its not too expensive/hard to replace. i just finished correcting the camber/toe in the rear too. =*( thanks for the input. i'm going to have to get under the car and see if your right.
