Default 2008 350Z rear suspension knock

I have a 2008 350Z Coupe that has rear suspension knocking when going over speed bumps etc.. The car has been to the local dealership. They're response is that there are several 2008 Zs that they are working that have the same problem and that a regional Nissan engineer will be looking at the problem. I've noticed on this forum that a possible cause of the problem is a difference in the OD of the strut attachment and the ID of the strut mount to the chasis.
Is this a common problem and should I believe the Nissan dealership when they say that they don't know what the problem is?
Your response is appreciated!!

Add me to the club. I've got an '08 in Tampa. Please continue to share any progress with this issue.
