Default Installing New Springs Question

Do you need to remove the engine strut/brace in order to remove the shocks/springs? I see 2 of what I assume are 3 bolts (1 of which may be hidden under the engine strut). Is there indeed a 3rd bolt under there forcing me to remove the engine strut?
