Shopping for springs - any ideas?
I'm looking for some new springs and wondering if I can use my stock shocks or if I need to/should get aftermarket shocks as well. Regarding lowering, I'm not trying to drop the car anymore than 1". I've got Eibach F/R swaybars (F'in awesome) and so I was thinking about getting their springs, the only ones I could find though are 1.3" and that just seems like too much. I'm also looking at Hotchkis because the specs on these don't appear to be too extreme:
Front Front 9/16" (15mm) Drop
340 lbs/in
Stock 310lbs/in
Rear 3/4" (19mm) Drop
330 lbs/in
Stock 350 lbs/in
BTW - I'm totally inexperienced in Wheels/Tires/Suspension other than the obvious.

Sorry for the delayed response guys, my internets been down. Yeah, while I like Eibach's brand - I think 1" is too much for me. Plus, I live in the D.C. metro area and our roads are really bad. In addition to that our speed bumps and humps are even worse, every F-ing neighborhood or shopping center. I bottom out on the speed bumps alone, plus my aftermarket mid-pipe kinda hangs a little lower than stock. I think I'll do the Hotchkis - by chance do any of you guys have the hotchkis springs? If so, any reviews, cautionary tales, etc? From what I've heard in my own little circle, hotchkis is one of the best for suspension components.

I live in Hawaii, and I can probably guarantee the roads are worse here... lol. I've heard good things about Hotchkis springs, but I got a good deal on the Tanabe's, and I think I found more threads that pointed at those, so I went with those instead. Nothing wrong with the Hotchkis springs though...
Btw, I'm lowered about 1" front and 1.2" rear. never had a problem getting into places, over speedbumps, etc, til I got my kit on. IMO, You should be fine with a 1" drop... maybe you're going too fast over the bumps, or need to caddy-corner your way over?

I stay in Vegas, roads are horrible as well. I only have to angle on the speed tables to get on/off base. Other than that I don't scrap/bump/scuff what have you on any dip/bump/speed bump, and I have V2 bumper. And yes stock shocks.

I have the Hotchkis at the moment. The ride is fantastic and the drop is EXTREMELY subtle but noticeable. People ask me if my car is lowered all the time, cause it's subtle enough to almost look like a slightly lower stock ride height. I might ditch mine for some Tanabe's though, I want moar drop and don't want coils on my daily. If you want subtle and clean Hotchkis is def a good choice.

Had hotchkis springs for almost 2 years now, aprox 20k miles. The ride quality is awesome. Rides better than stock. I still have the stock shocks and theyre fine. And I live in southern cali so we get our share of rough roads. I love these springs. The only con i can think of is that I wish the rear was a little lower....but not willing to sacrifice the ride quality, so i can live with it. If your looking for a mild drop and excellent ride quality hotchkis is the way to go.

Yeah, I think Im going to do the hotchkis. I now have 19" wheels though and I'm wondering if the drop is going to be low enough. I figure these are going to add 2 inches more so to have spring witha drop of less than an inch, I'm going to pretty much break even...anybody have experience with this?
