Pumping the brakes
I have a 2003 touring and notice that when I brake, let up and brake again (pump) that the brakes are much tighter on the second stroke. I thought maybe I had some air in the system. The dealership says it is normal. On the first stroke the piston has to travel the full distance while on the second stroke it travels a shorter distrance and therefore the brakes feel tighter. Make sense to you? Anyone else troubled by this?
YES!!!! I have that on my BREMBOs too and I hate it! I don't remember it always being like that though. I wonder if the new tandem master cylinders on the 2004 get rid of this problem.
I find this as disturbing as the bouncy suspension.

Vaccuum. All cars do it.

I have owned quite a few cars, but never had it to this extent. I'm not sure that I would call this normal. In fact I have never driven any car that had to be pumped like this to get feeling in the pedal.
Well if you think it is abnormal then you should obviously take it in for service. No one can accuratley and reliably diagnose a problem over the internet. They can only speculate or relate normal quirks they experience. Good luck and keep us updated!
