Hi everyone, well i have had my 350Z for a year bone stock, and it's time for a lowering job and some deep dish wheels. I only want to lower it about 1 inch and would like the ride quality to remain the same if possible. It's my daily driver so i dont want a harsh bouncy ride. Can you guys suggest some springs?

Members who lower the car care little about handling and comfort. As long as it looks cool. Looks trump handling.

 

If you are going to lower your car at least get some shocks to match your lowering springs. Putting lowering springs on stock shocks will dramatically shorten the life of your shock making your car ride like crap.

overall ride quality has as much to do with your tire selection as it does your spring selection

To prevent a harsh and bouncy ride, make sure the spring rate is the same as the stock spring rate for your car's year, like Z1 said. That way you won't have to worry about changing the struts!

 

Coil height is also a big factor here. Rate could be the same, but if the spring is 2" shorter, that's 2" less shock travel.

Lowering springs has always been kind of a guessing game in my opinion. If you think you'll ever take advantage of the adjustability, go with coilovers. Otherwise, look for a proven set of springs + shocks.

 

I ran Tanabe NF210's on my z for about 6 months before i got my coilovers. They were paired up with Tokiko Blues and the ride was better than stock IMO. I have been in a few stock Z's and i was always impressed by my setup for what it was...

I cant remember what the spring rates are but IIRC they are basically the same as stock. I would highly recomend them for what you want to accomplish. I actually still have my setup PM me and maybe we can work something out...i THINK i might want to sell them haha...
