Default Stoptech Trophy BBK for Z33, Z34, and others

StopTech's latest racetrack and competition brake system comes with the new Trophy STR lightweight forged calipers in six-piston, four-piston and two-piston configurations. Based on the StopTech ST-60, ST-40, and ST-22 calipers, STR calipers feature the same metallurgy and design, but are engineered to provide a 20-percent reduction in weight without sacrificing stiffness or performance.

STR calipers are also available in Sport Trophy kits designed for production street driven vehicles which utilize dust boots, anti-rattle rotor mounting hardware and include StopTech Street Performance brake pads in most applications.
  • Fully forged aluminum construction with hard anodized finish
  • All finished parts are 100% leak down and pressure tested to 2500 PSI
  • Dust boots are standard for reduced maintenance
  • 20% reduction in weight without sacrificing stiffness or performance
  • Same caliper used by top World Challenge and Grand-Am Cup Teams

Vivid Racing has these new Stoptech Big Brake Kits available for the Z33 [LINK] and Z34 [LINK], as well as other models.

I've never been able to get over the staggering cost of BBKs. Yes, I have ridden in cars that are equipped with them and they are great but $3,700 for just the fronts?

BBKs are really only "worth it" to people putting down big power on the track. Besides, when you've got $30k in an engine build, what's $4k for brakes?

Not necessarily. Even for amatuer drivers that have light NA mods done to their car, considerable time can be shaved by being able to brake very late and controlled in to a turn.

I myself would love to have a BBK as my first track experience, I almost slammed in to a SVT Cobra due to massive brake fade.

I guess my overall point is that for just a few pieces of metal, seals, lines and calipers, $6,000+ is far too much regardless of how much money you make/spend. I think some companies sell built long blocks for $6,000!!!

So worth it. My Stoptechs were my first mod after setting my stock base model brakes on fire.

I guess someone made a huge amount of profit on you then.

VividRacing, do you have any cheaper lines of BBKs that you sell to the point that I can get a front and rear set for $4k or under?

I've got the regular ST-40 and ST-22 setup. Do they offer just the caliper upgrade for those of use with the a stoptech kit already?

^Not sure if you know but they also changed out the bracket for the front to reduce knockback. The fronts are now positioned at 9oclock. I believe some of the guys with the non trophy ones have upgraded their brackets.

Ok cool! Do they sell just the bracket then?
Can anyone else say wether or not you can buy just the calipers?

The front brackets that relocate the calipers for reduced knockback are available separately but they do require new front brake lines as well.

As far as more affordable kits are concerned, our 4 piston 332mm front only kits start at $2195

Is that $2195 for just the calipers? Or the entire kit?

Do you offer just the calipers?

$2195 is for the front kit, calipers, brackets, lines pads, rotors and hardware.

Replacement calipers are sold separately if needed.

Erick. How much would the rears be? I'm assuming less since they are typically smaller right?

Our 2 piston rear kit starts at $2295, a little more expensive due to the deep hat which accommodates the factory drum style parking brake. There's a lot of machine time and material waste to make them which leads to some added costs.
