Default Can anyone recommend Swift springs?

Hi Guys,

I'm about to order a set of springs and I'm looking to drop the car no more than 1". Also, unlike most people I care about ride quality. I saw that Swift springs promise this and because their price tag is $150 more than every other spring, perhaps they might have something going. Obviously price an quality don't always equate, but sometimes they do. If not these springs, what is recommended?

I posted this question about hotchkis and got too much of a mixed review to feel 100% about it. Currently I'm running 19x10 with 275/35/19's Michelin pilots. The only suspension mod at this point is I have Eibachsway bars as well. Any other recommendations for good ride quality and performance would be much appreciated. Thanks.

SES,

I just put 19"s on and so I'm trying to drop it no more than 1". It's a 2005 with revised suspension. I want it low but not too low. And I'd really like to keep the ride quality either comparable to how it is now or better. My wheel set up is as such:
19x10 with 275/35's

Thanks

So why waste money on springs that are built to actually make you handle better?

If you want a 1ish inch drop, just get sportlines, they're like $200 new

I think he doesn't mind the better performance and misunderstood your question..... I say you pay what your get for so do it right, do it right the firs time.

Your 2005 car has the following spring rates
314/427

Here's a list of less then 1" drop springs with spring rates (not listing anything with a less then .5" drop on purpose).

RSR 350Z linear springs .6”/.6” drop
Spring rates in LBS 345/417

Hotchkis 350Z Linear springs .6”/.8” drop
Spring rates in lbs 340/330

Tein S-tech 350z (fronts are progressive, rears are linear) .7”/.6” drop
Spring rates in LBS 386/402 (estimated front intial rate is 327lbs)

Swift 350Z linear springs .8”/.6” drop
Spring rates in LBS 336/364

Based on what you want I would go with RSR or the Swift spring.

Eibach sportline is about the last spring you'd want to install

Eibach 350Z sportline progressive springs 1.2"/1.2" drop
F: 239/400 R: 257/435

Too much front spring rate and too much drop. Not feeling the huge swings in spring rates between initial and final rates either.

A better choice would be (if you were wanting a drop beyond .8"

Vogtland 350z progressive springs 1”/1” drop
Spring rates in LBS initial/final front 257/354 initial/final rear 285/422

I appreciate the feedback guys. I suppose I didn't stress this enough on previous posts, my biggest thing is performance. My goal is to get springs that offer performance and dont compromise ride quality. I stated that I dont want to drop anymore than 1" because I've read that anything more will mess up ride quality and put horrible stress on shocks, endlinks, amongst other components. I know nothing about spring rates, progressive or linear, and which is better and which is worse. I like the vogtland suggestion due to the amount of drop offered. Hopefully this describes my wants a little more.

Yeah he seems to know a lot. I like how he provided specs. I just don't know how to apply the specs to my needs (spring rates, etc). Id like a more comfortable ride but I highly doubt that's possible with springs.

I know The Spec-R's have a higher spring rate and they make the car handle better than compared to regular sport swifts! Corner 3 garage actually sells them for pretty cheap from what seen.

I had Tanabe NF210 springs on my car when I had some 19" work meisters and it sat pretty good. Just a subtle drop. This was of course before everyone started slamming their cars and making them look...meh. Price is good too. If you're looking for Swift, I believe Corner3 stocks them

I've had the Swift Spec R's and they were fine until the stock shocks said they had enough. The ride on the Spec R's are good (relative). There are claims that the progressive coils on the spring act as a helper or near-tender spring. Meaning the softer coils were nearly completely compressed at static ride height (which I believe was accurate). Either way they worked well however the lowering was a little more than I liked but was definately a good setup (looks, ride and performance).

The Swift Spec-R's and tanabe NF/GF springs are definitely great products! I know some guys at swift and they said that these might get discontinued unless they can get more sales up on them.

Some good information here on springs.

I'm in a similar situation as the OP. I currently have the tein s-techs and i think the ride is too harsh. The roads are very harsh and i'm relating that to the stiffness of the s-techs (someone correct me if that thinking is not correct). So i think i'm going to switch to spring with a lower spring rate, possible Swift, RSR or Hotchkis. Target drop is less than an inch (.6 -.8" drop)
Would a lower spring rate give me a less of stiff/harsh ride in the Z?

Here is my review on them.

https://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-...-r-review.html

I dont mean to revive this thread but I was just surfing.

Just letting you know that the other springs dont really compare to the performance of Swift springs. If you search forums for other vehicles, Swift is always top pick. Especially the Spec R.
