Define choppy. What exactly happens? Is it on bumpy roads? Do you hear abnormal noises coming from suspension components?

+1

When you say 'choppy', I get the impression that you've got an alignment issue.

Is this your first sports car? It doesn't ride like an Accord, because the suspension is stiffer and more positive for better control and performance. Going to a nimso or aftermarket suspension will only make that side of it worse if you are expecting lexus ride quality.

Was your '06 bone stock? Have you checked if the '07 you purchased has aftermarket suspensions pieces such as shocks/struts, sway bars, etc?

choppy like the shocks/struts are too soft for the springs but not really uncontrollable, and no this is not my first Z nor sport car, I've had 06 Z33, GT VR4, Z32 both N/A and TT, Z31 Shiro (I know what stiff suspension is). My other car is an 06 E90 ... anyhow, to say that this suspension feel weird...

I also bought my 06 used, but didn't have this issue, previous owner prob swap the suspension? maybe?

btw, there are no noise what so ever ...

Good question, the previous owner told me that he swapped all new tires (the car has only 25,000 miles ... so why?) didn't really look at the brand name, will check after work today. And according to him, the car is bone stock besides the tires he just put in...

How do you know you even have the OEM suspension or not? 07 Z could have very easily been modded.

You've described blown shocks in my opinion.

I just got an 08 Z with stock set up and 37K miles...I came from an 09 Chevy Cobalt turbo with slightly moded suspension....which was very stiff. The ride on this car is stiff in stock form and it will *jounce* some, but it doesn't BOUNCE. However, I don't find the ride *choppy* at all..stiff yes. It actually has a very good set up and is very tight and handles well. The only thing I did was add a rear sway bar (Tanabe) to dial out some understeer. With only 25000 miles, I doubt that the shocks are shot. Could be tires, but I doubt it unless you're running 19" or 20" rims with very low profile tires.

Do you drive on rough pavement..bad road conditions?
The ride is definitely firm in stock form I was surprised myself. You might want to change to Tokico D spec adjustable shocks and set them *soft* (5 turns from full stiff). They go well with stock springs. I will get those when I replace the stock shocks.
