Default Coilovers or LSD?

So I'm about to sell my coils. *And get new coils or get a LSD. *I have about 1100 to spend on either.if I get coils, I want a true coilover. Ive heard mixed reviews on clutch type lsd's. My z isn't a daily. And I like to autox it. And want to track it more.

if you have a base model i would go with the lsd otherwise i'd suggest coilovers first

The stock suspension is actually pretty good, but the stock VLSD blows, you will get better improvements while autocrossing and at the track with an LSD. If i had to do it again, an LSD would be one of my first mods.

Also $1100 won't get you a set of coilovers that are better than an OEM 04.5 and newer suspension.

It's the ethusiast model. But would a clutch type be the way to go?

Clutch vs. Helical is up to you. I love my Carbonetic and I dd my Z when I feel like it. I can add that it makes drifting a breeze

+1, What he said

Stock suspension is fine especially compared to $1,100 coilovers. And if all you have is $1,100 check out the Nismo LSD. It is very agressive, but it is loud. IMO the Nismo LSD is the best for the money. But if your really want better coilovers, try and save a little more for some KW's. The V3s are my next mod. Im currently running the V1s.

1. why do you want 'true' coils?
2. $1100 is not nearly enough on a worthwhile set of 'true' coils
3. an LSD will cost more than $1100 with the required install parts, and especially if you have to pay for labor

The OS LSD doesn't actually work any differently from any other clutch type LSD. It is middle of the road in terms of noise/intrusiveness to the cabin, NISMO being the loudest, Carbonetics being the quietest. Carbonetics needs more frequent oil flushes and has been on extended backorder, OSG's are available in stock (we have 1 on the shelf as well as the install parts needed for it to go into the car). The OS is a terrific unit, but there are no bests between clutch type and helical..different means towards similar ends. The best choice for you depends on your realistic current uses for the car, and realistic future goals

Occasional track day...id like to be able to drift (not really possible now with my open diff) and of course drivin all the time on real windy *** roads. I was leanin toward 1.5 way bit im thinkin i culd get used to the 2 way. I wanna understand a lil more how it locks when decel in a corner but from wat i read if u are decel hard enough into a corner with a 1.5 way it can lock up....is this true?

Unless your running a dedicated drift car, a 1.5 diff will be plenty for you.
