Question New brakes: Refinish now or later?

Looking for opinions from some people with more experience than I:

I just picked up a new-to-me brake kit by MovIt. The kit is in incredible condition overall, but the paint is peeling in several places where brake fluid made contact.

While they are off the car should I get them properly refinished and painted/powdercoated? Or will they just look the same after a year or so? (In which case I should just leave it and refinish the whole kit in a couple of years.)

Will the exposed aluminum get pitted/damaged by brake dust, dirt, and debris?

Car gets driven once or twice per week with a half dozen track days per summer. Garage kept, no rain or snow/salt.

Thoughts? Anyone been in the same position?

Cheers

do it now, once they are on the car you'll never want them off.

pretty much no brainer, no problems with your brakes now so get them powder coated to save you the inconvinience of taking them off in the future.

From the comments above, sounds like powder coating is the best treatment for brakes? More durable than paint?

Do the pistons need to be removed? How much disassembly of the actual caliper is required?

Thanks!

There was a thread a while back where someone disassembled his Brembo calipers for powder coating. They leaked when he put them back together, and he had trouble finding the seals. The service manual says not to take them apart, so the seals aren't available from dealers. This might not be the case with your calipers, but I'd make sure beforehand.
