Default How much abuse can our Z take from being low?

I've been lowered for about 6 months now. Lowest point is the stock cat and the flange coming off of it, which is a about 3 fingers (1.5 inches?). I avoid speed bumps unless there's no way around it. Most speed humps are fine to go over but every once in a while, with somebody in the car i dont clear it. Sometimes a scrape which seems to be both the cat and the flex pipe on the exhaust, and sometimes a loud pop which is probably the flange. It doesn't seem like there is any real damage, just a bit of fraying on the flex pipe.

Anyway, for all you low guys, how much abuse can our exhaust components take?

Papa bear says 3 fingers is too aggressive.
Momma bear says 3 fingers is too wimpy.
Baby bear says 3 fingers is just right.

I don't get it,guys drop their cars then have to drive around everyday road hazards to avoid damage.Where I live(Atlanta),there is too many hills, sloped driveways to deal with.
Nothing looks worse than to have a sick CF lip on your Z and see cracks and scrapes
on it.The first things thats gonna scrape is the exhaust system components. Its gonna be a matter of time before you do real damage.Maybe you already have.
Your questions are a bit after the fact.

Why ruin a perfectly good handling car by dumping it to the ground.

You should worry more about bushing life and camber wear. The bottom of the car has protective pieces so unless to manage to hit your tranny or rear diff. on something you should be fine.

I'm in no way hellaflush or dumped and am not going for that in anyway. If you see an old post of mine in the rpf-1 thread or fat tires thread, you can see how low I am. I may be a little too low for the optimal performance, but for what I wanted I found a happy medium between form and function.

My daily driving is barely affected, and I run into problems every once in a while, hence me starting this thread. From what I have seen on the forum, I find my ride height to be closer to those with a strictly functional setup rather than those that are "hellaflush."

Anyway, thank you to those that provided some input.

looks good in my opinion. I wouldn't go that low, but, if you like it.. go for it. Drive safe.
