faux coilover springs
Just wondering has anybody used these? I know true coilovers are much better but I dont have the money plus I'm only looking for height adjustment for my DD
these sort of look like old-school Ground Controls.. but anyway..
ask yourself:
1) am i really going to adjust height often?
2) do the available spring kits currently out on the market not have the exact ride height i'm looking for?
if you said yes to either of them, then sure. go ahead and get these. other wise the non-adjustable, sport-tuned springs out on the market will be more than enough for your lowering needs.

Way to call me bro! Lol
Didn't know that anyone knew that I had them.
I ran these for a few years. Had to run the rears without the adjustment collar so I get get low enough. Fronts took some effort to install but got plenty low.
Ride wasn't bad. Quality wasn't bad either.

Height adjustability is cool and all, but you won't touch them like you will. I can also guarantee you won't even give a second thought to corner balancing. It's a lot more work than you'd enjoy, probably.
The only time I adjust my coilovers is to pass inspection. Then, they go right back down and stay there, along with finding a weigh platform or multiple scales and dialing in all the corner weights.
If all you're looking for is ride height... stick with springs and struts.

If the specs are correct, spring rates in the rear are way WAY too soft
at 250lbs. Front spring rate is supposed to be 350lbs, that's fine.
At one point the kit had 500/500 rates, we do have one member that used them with Koni's on his track car.
I used the rear's on the kit (500lbs) with the Truechoice coilover setup I had. If you get the slightest about of dirt in the threads, it does NOT want to turn very well. I wised up and put the threaded parts in one gallon zip lock baggies, problem solved.

These are commonly reffered to as "eBay coilovers" or "sleeves". A friend of mine ran some cheap eBay ones on his S14 240SX but used Swift coilover springs and Koni shocks. The sleeves held up to daily driving and monthly drift events for like a year until he got real coilovers. If you do go this route, make sure the springs are quality.
As for dirt in the threads, coat them with anti-seize or even some regular old Hi Temp grease. When it's time to adjust, just wipe the dirty grease off with a rag and you'll be good to go
