Default Non Squeaky Sway Bar Bushings?

I've got the Stillen 5 way adjustable front and rear sways on my G coupe (along with plenty of other mods) and the sway bar bushings (I think they came with the sway bars, but I am not sure, put them in about 4 years ago) are really damn squeaky.

Anyone recommend some sway bar bushings that are less or not squeaky at all?

Thanks

Install grease fitting and grease them every 6 mo or annually.

I just put on a new bar with PROTHANE 34MM (designed for Z Bracket) Poly bush. It comes with special grease. You can also order ES 350Z bushings and order the Prothane grease separately.
Here is the Prothane grease:
http://www.ajusa.com/details/index/1.../PTP%2019-1750

Our Super Grease™ contains versatile water-proof, non-melting Teflon® and is formulated to seal out water and to lubricate under the most adverse conditions. It's superior adhesive and extreme pressure qualities, combined with it's urethane compatibility makes it the only one to use. One kit contains 3 tubes (approx. 1/2 oz total) - enough to do any kit installation, while the other provides for numerous or complete vehicle applications

I then sprayed this stuff ON THE BAR before installing the bushing (greased):

Liquid Wrench White Lithium Spray...awesome stuff. This combo will NEVER squeak...dead silent.

Don't waste your time or money on that. Why? 1) it's lithium based 2) it's a spray. Lithium greases are soluble in water. Use a moly based grease or silicon - that's what is supplied with sway bars. You want a heavy paste, not a liquid spray - guess which one is going to stick to the bar and bushing longer?

Yeah, I think it was your thread that I got it from. I got tired of taking my sway bars off every spring and greasing them.

The spray was used in conjuction with the Prothane grease
BTW..what does being a *spray* have to do with it? Have you used this? It sprays on a thick sticky grease.
But this stuff does not wash off..read..

“One of a comprehensive line-up of six powerful penetrants and lubricants, Liquid Wrench White Lithium Grease is the product to choose for a thick, long-lasting grease coat that won’t freeze, melt or run,” said Mike Guggenheimer, VP of Business Development at Liquid Wrench. “It lays down a thick grease coat that will not freeze or melt, even in extreme outdoor conditions.

This long-lasting spray is formulated with specialty thickeners that build up and stay in place, even on large surface areas. Its heavy film is ideal for moving parts that need to face the elements, including large outdoor hinges, automotive hoods, boats, lawn tractors and trailer hitches, plus industrial equipment and farm implements. The non-sagging protection extends life and inhibits corrosion, even on large moving parts

It doesn't say waterproof or that it won't wash away. Not in the sales blurb you quoted or on their website. It doesn't explicitly claim that it's waterproof so why would you assume it is? Unless they have re-invented "white lithium grease", then IT IS water soluble. Suspension parts have a habit of getting wet, that's why people use silicon or moly based greases on exposed parts.

I found a couple threads where Terrasmak makes reference to installing Zerk fittings but haven't found a DIY.

You can buy Zerk fitting kits that come with a tap for threading the hole you make with a standard drill bit. Remove the metal brackets that hold the bushings, drill through the bracket and bushing. Clean out the bushing and enlarge the hole some more. Thread the grease fitting into the hole in the bracket. Install bushing on bar, slide into bracket and align base of fitting with the hole in the bushing. Mount as you normally would then grease the fitting. Grease should ooze out the side of the bushing.

take your bar off, wrap it with white teflon tape, (plumbers tape) where the bushings are. Then reinstall. I never have reapplied and no squeaking. I bought a Comptech bar 10+ years ago and that was in there instructions.

It's just another *layer* of lubrication...not a primary one.
Anyway...it does say *won't wash off* (AKA *WATERPROOF*) here>>>
http://www.acehardware.com/product/i...ductId=3506747

10.25 oz. aerosol
Auto, home, marine and shop lubricant
Reduces friction in all metal to metal, and metal to plastic
Protects against rust and corrosion
Will not melt, freeze or wash off

Here's the info from Liquid Wrench..you can take it anyway you like

Liquid Wrench White Lithium Grease – Creates long-lasting, heavy-duty lubrication
- Heavy duty lubricant provides a thick grease coat that will not freeze, melt or run
- Ideal for all-weather application, including large outdoor hinges, automotive hoods, boats, lawn tractors and trailer hitches, industrial equipment and farm implements

There are lot's of testimonials out there..here's a sample:

http://www.toyota120.com/forum/showp...65&postcount=5

I never did figure out exactly where the noise was coming from, but I sprayed everything I could think of. Upper and lower shock mounts, upper and lower control arm joints. I never sprayed the sway bar bushings, but that wasn't the problem anyways. I tried three different sprays or grease until one of them finally did the trick. White Lithium Spray from Liquid Wrench worked for my problem.

..but, again..it's not a primary source. I just suggested you ADD this as another *nail in the coffin*. Can't hurt..may help. I've used it for sway bar and other applications (sticky clutch pedal). I stand by MY EXPERIENCE with this stuff. I would recommend it as as ADJUNCT to lubing the Poly bushings.

This exactly. We just used normal grease and added grease fittings (either the front or rear bar; I forget which didn't come with them) and it works absolutely fine. Add to that lubing up everything that contains a heim joint and my suspension makes very little noise at all.

Hotchkis comes with grease fittings on rear, had to add them to the front.
