Smile Whiteline F Sway and Hotchkis R sway....bad idea?

As the title states, would combining hotchkis Rear sway and whiteline front sway be a bad idea? how could it influence my ride? Any knowledge on this would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Not at all. I have Tanabe rear and Topspeed (Cusco knock off) front.
Whitleline makes a great product..solid bars. I just don't undertand the stiffness ratings since that bar is only 32MM (stock is 34 hollow), albeit solid. I guess the hole placement (like Hotchkis) provides the rated stiffness.
Keep in mind, the 04.5 up front bars are 17% stiffer than the previous bars.
I have an 08 and actually measured the bar to be 35mm (hollow).

How has that Topspeed swaybar worked for you?

BTW Thanks for responding. I own a 2005 350z and looking for a little bit of a stiffer ride, but I'm in between the adjustable front sway or a solid one. Now that you mentioned the thickness I guess that my best bet would be an adjustable one. Correct me if I'm wrong !

Thanks!

Topspeed bar>>>best bang for the buck. basically a Cusco, which cost 4X as much. Car handles MUCH better..but I have a square set up with 9.5s all around, so it was tail happy. BTW, that bar is adjustable (2 holes) and solid at 35mm.

You're not going to net a remarkably 'stiffer' ride via swaybars - that's not what they're made for.

What exactly are you trying to achieve?

Adjustable has nothing to do with solid btw

various factors affect rated stiffness

I have to admit that the handling in the Z is not the best compared to s2000s and other cars, so I want to improve it to have better control of the car.
Right now I have a Hotchkiss rear sway bar laying around my bedroomm, already installed the SPC camber arms and toe bolts, and slowly building up my parts. With that said, I would like some recomendations, suspension-wise.

I kinda knew that a sway bar is not going to make the car remarkably stiffer, what I meant to say was less body roll.

I'm new to this scene and I'm learning and reading as I go, so be easy onb me hehehe!

Both are great cars, I'm not biased in any way as a lot of people are.

There are tons and tons of options and everyone has a different set of goals and especially budget, so you really need to define those for yourself clearly first

Budget is about $1,500 for suspension upgrades.

Sway-bars
Camber arms
Suspension (Coil-over or Lowering springs w/shocks)
Wheels..... I like the originals and I have good tires also.

with 1500 you could probably get an OK set of coilovers like Stance, and maybe some SPC rear camber arms with toe bolts.

You would be hard pressed to fit swaybars in that budget unless you found some really good prices on used stuff...
Then again your still going to want to consider end links. How low do you want to go may determine what you want to do as far as alignment as well...Most aftermarket front Camber arms do not allow to correct for as
much positive camber as they allow for MORE negative camber. Nevermind the fact that they are expensive unless you go with cheaper Ichibas or something of the like which i wouldnt recoment. Then again you may not even need from camber arms depending on what your trying to do with the car...

Like stated above, WHAT are you trying to do with the car? you have to be a bit more specific

Yeah, I've been thinking a lot about coilovers. I just need something basic like TEIN Basics or MR Street (or something similar). I dont want to lower the car to much, just cover the gap between the tire and the side-fenders, but at the same time improve handling, maintain drivability for daily use and have the ability to adjust height just in case I decide to go and track the car . I've read about just using springs, but my shocks have to be replaced so C/Os really look like a great idea.

I already have the rear hotchkiss sway bar and ordered right now a front sway bar. This past Sunday I installed the SPC Camber/Toe kit for my rear wheels. I'm half-way there. Looking for a good price on C/Os

I hope this clears out any doubts.

Well sounds like you got it somewhat figured out.

my .02 regarding Tein Basics is that for the money you pay you can get something better. Tein Basics only allow for ride height and really arent much better than a sleave type coilover and shock setup. Your better off spending a little more and at least get something that provides some damper adjustment.

Also, correct me if im wrong but Tein basics do not allow for adjustment of shock travel but only ride height i thought? I may be wrong but if thats the case its another thing to consider as a negative for the basics...I would rather spend less and get some megans or something lol (let the megan bashing begin). I have Megan streets and i think they are great, mind you my car is slammed...ive had them for about 10k miles or more and they are still running strong, not the best but still good for how much i paid for them.
