I'm still sticking with my coils the ISC N1 coilovers from AJW performance in the vendor section think hes still doing $950 shipped. I love mine and i'm slammed and still have a like stock like ride with no bounce and have had them over 5k miles now. I also opted for kinetix new version front a-arms and spl rear toe and camber arms. There are pics of my car and the coils on my review in this section.

If you don't track it at all, go with Ksport, D2, or BC. You'll get the adjustability and performance you'll use on the street, without spending a ton of cash. Bilstein PSS, KW, and the higher end stuff mentioned are all great, but if you're not tracking the car then Ksport/D2/BC are a better choice in my opinion. Even if you do get in to tracking the car, those 3 options will serve you pretty well. Tein Basics don't give you as much adjustability.

Ksport, D2, and BC all have adjustable shock bodies, so you can maintain full shock stroke while lowering the vehicle. This is important for ride comfort. If you want to spend around $1k, Bilstein PSS, KW, or even Fortune Auto are all good choices. If you want to spend a bit less so you can get some control arms or something too, go with Ksport, D2, or BC. If you want any pricing, just PM me. I'll match (possibly even beat) any advertised price on Ksport stuff. This applies to ALL Ksport products, not just Z coilovers.

I have deff given thought to the Koni yellows with some springs but at that point I am right there with some coils too. I am starting to lean towards the BC and starting to forget the Tein. To me it seems if you are going with the basics, you might as well just get new struts with some springs. Either way all this info is very useful and I really appreciate it. I actually took the time to find some people with certain coil overs that have had them installed for at least a year plus and get an updated review and so far the people in regards to the BC have been rather happy with their purchase. Plus they are rebuildable which is a bonus in my eyes.

What exactly makes them of "great quality"?

Really bc aren't rebuildable, I just assumed bc the one place has a lot of parts that you can buy for them. I guess I was wrong.

They just send you new parts, either way they are still junk. The koni setup will be a lot better for street or track.

Your profile says you have BC coilovers, so i'm guessing you're speaking from experience? What makes them junk?

Please Terra can you let me know some more via Pm bc I do not want to buy a product and regret and so far I heard mainly good things about them. Unlike Megans which I seem to hear just bad from them.

Just checked, i had them a while back. Where does it say i run them now? Last year i swapped from the BC's to Moton Clubsports.

The dampening makes them junk, good luck getting them set right.

+1

Good quality parts that are proven to work well. Definitely a good recommendation.

To a point. Biggest problem I see. Too many owners that cannot wrap their head around thinking outside the box, no matter how good the end setup might be.

The Koni setup for the Z was R&D'd on the original suspension setup. Which had spring rates of 314/342. I've run yellows with the following spring rates and I've run them on the shock dyno. And I dont' give a crap what Lee or Gordon say at Koni, they CANNOT support rates as high as they claim, Dyno's tell a different story.

448/427 (where they were their happiest as far as stiffer springs go)
375/375 (Tokico springs)
560/500 (coilover setup, too much spring in the front and pretty much the limit in the rear)
448/500
358/375 (Tein H-tech)
and I might be forgetting a couple.

The 448/427 setup was as follows

.5"/.5" drop
Front: Tein tapered springs, custom 6061 lower spring seats
Rear: Oem 2005+ springs on cut down oem upper spring seats
Prefered shock settings 2 turns up from full soft front 4 sweeps up fronm full soft rear.

Pic of the Tein tapered springs, as you can see they reuse the oem upper shocks mounts

Same spring on the spring seats I made, easy to make. Anyone that has a miter saw, drill and dremel can make them.

Closer pic of the lower seats

Picture of Koni thread coilver sleaves for the fronts

When I ran the 560/500 setup I was using Bc Racing pillowball upper shock mounts, Koni coilover sleaves and Ebay generic rear coilover seats and springs. Koni does sell top hats for the front that allow you to modify the oem front upper shock mount. Here's a picture of the Koni top hat and the modified upper shock mount.

Adam, their is a reason why I consistently tell people that pm me for advice to contact you after I've had my say. Either they are going to ask for a 2nd opinion or I hope make a purchase. It's refreshing to have a vendor that will tell people what they need to and not just what they want to hear. And while it's true you carry some products I would never recommend, you rarely if ever recommend them here. Thank you for holding yourself to a higher standard. Your customers benefit as do the members of this community.

They won't show the rear adjustable coilover seats, but they do have them to support their Phase III and Phase IV coilver kits. Be warned, they are expensive. A cheaper way to get adjustable rear springs is to purchase a Ebay generic sleave coilover kit and toss everything in the box except the adjustable rear seats. Then purchase Eibach or Hypercoil 5.5" outside diameter springs that are 9.5" tall.
