S/S brake lines
does anyone know if the S/S brake lines are model specific or universal?
looking to change them on my factory brembos, I nearly ran into the back of the car in front on a steep downhill slope while not travelling fast at all, and I nearly floor it to get it stop normally (not sudden stop).
Still love those AP-Racing s from my previous car......

I have the Goodridges and I believe they were purchased from Stillen (not sure). The kit comes with parts for both the Brembos and regular brakes, so it does cover all Z's. I have not installed them yet, but I can tell you that they will not likely reduce your stopping distance.
SS lines really are for tracking your car. Otherwise, they will not help to much. When the brake fluid gets really hot, the rubber lines will expand on braking and cause a spungy feeling (fade). SS lines will not expand under heat and will reduce fade. In this case, braking distance is not reduced, but preserved.
For street use, SS lines likely will make little difference. Really the best way to reduce braking distance is to either install larger rotors (as a kit), pads with great friction, or reduce the weight of the vehicle (especially rotating mass, ie, rims and tires).
If you really want to reduce braking, look at another option besides lines.
