Don't get me wrong, it's not that you CAN'T drift a car that's slammed, but it makes it more difficult. I know of one local guy that raised his strut towers so he could keep his car super low.

Here's a pic from when he was in Import Tuner:

And a shot of him in action, courtesy of yours truly:

For the money, the best you can buy. Great for my 240, but they dont hold a candle to the HKS on the Z. But i have been in all the other 1k coilovers for 240's, ie megan, pbm, godspeed, circuit sports, and these are by far better.

I would suggest swift springs and the ball bearing spring bushings if you want them to be quiet. They do pop under turn without them. No biggie though for the drift toy.

what kind of swift spring rates are offered for fortune coilovers? or what kind of rates can the shock valving handle?

I am not 100% on this, but I believe you can order any custom spring rate with the Swift option. Unfortunately, I can't give you a specific range of spring rates to choose from. I do believe that if you know what rates you want then they will supply them at your request.

As for the shock valving... I think they will adjust that according to your liking or whatever matches the spring rates you choose, but this hasn't been verified yet. This is something I have asked Vivid Racing and am awaiting a response.

edit: Actually I noticed in the sale thread from Vivid Racing that you can order springs ranging from 5k to 12k. Check it out here.

Fortune auto has A LOT of different spring rates. Even on the base model 500 series coilovers you can pick your spring rate and they valve the shocks accordingly at no extra cost. The main reason I wanted them is cause they are beefy, they go pretty low, and i can send them to get rebuilt/upgraded in the USA. I haven't found another coil over for the price that I think is better.

These are the very reasons I may choose Fortune Auto myself.

I wonder the same thing. They have a facility in the Chicago area. Need to find out if they service and rebuild there.

im looking at the stance gr vs fortune auto 510's. stance's come with 12kg/6kg and fortune auto comes with 8kg/6kg. Are these rates comparable between companies? will a 12/6 setup on stance feel the same on fortune auto and viceversa? Or does the valving from each company have an effect as to why they have different rates in front and rear?
