In this case I would recommend to spend a little money and get what's best for your Z not what's cheapest just a idea. I'm sure other people would say something different so you can do what you like bro good luck.

you were looking at some coilovers ($550~ up) but these seem too expensive and now you want lowering springs ($300~ down). What is your exact budget?

I have some brand new Tokico springs that are designed to lower your car 1 inch all around. There not that expensive but shipping them to FL will be since there heavy.

youll prob want more than that once u get them on. I thought 1" was going to do it and now I'm way lower than that. Go ahead and save up the extra I'd say. All others come into play so be prepared. It's not just putting springs on and that's it. Alignment and all camber/toe equipment needed.

IMO if you are in a hurry to drop your car and got limited funds, go with springs. You can find some on ebay (Tein S-Tech) for like $160 shipped. Just make offer to the vendor/seller. Some of them will have the offer button.

If you want to think long term, might as well save up for coilovers. I'd aim at the ~$1000 price range for decent ones for DD.

yea I was thinking about springs but almost all the reviews I read i see that they eventually bought new ones and from reading the replies it seems best to save up for the coilovers but my question is with coilovers what other parts need to be supplemented with lowering your car so much with coilovers?

Look in the Classified, many people are selling S Techs or Tanabe springs which will give you around a 1" drop.

-1 , drop springs and a nice set of shocks are a hell of a let better than some crappy $1k china coilovers.

Forgot to mention, cheaper too.

This.

I was considering trying out some cheaper coilovers and different brands but decided to pick up a set of Koni yellows to replace my D Spec.

If you're looking for the Koni Yellows contact James@MVP. He just quoted me the lowest I've seen on them.
