Default Rear spring mount mod question (searched and got mixed answers)

Hey guys I just got a new set of continental dws all season high performance tires in 225/45/18 front and 245/45/18 rear which is the stock sizes for my 35th anniversary rims , and I also got an alignment while I was there because it was way out of spec. Shortly after, I read about the rear spring mount cut mod and want to cut it by .5" but do not want to throw off my recently aligned suspension (especially with new these new tires). My question is will this mod actually require another alignment? I read through a lot of previous threads and some said yes and others said no and I do not want to take a chance and throw it off and wear out these brand me tires that I want to last. Will I actually need an alignment or not? I am on all stock suspension.

Any time you change your ride height it will change the geometry of the suspension. Will it be far out of spec, probably not. Should you get alignment, yes
