I chose the specs on the springs. Full responsibility in my court.

Agreed. Going to get some of that c shaped foam/rubber to protect the hose.

Not yet. I have to admit that this thread has slightly resparked my interest in working on my car again. I' haven't touched my z in the last three months. It's time to dust it off as well as my tools and get back to wrenching.

Your modifications to the rear cups....can you go into any more detail as to what was done? Or is that top secret info?

bored to 50mm to fit over BC threaded adapter. Nothing to hide here! Was as simple as that.

If you look at the first two pics in the op you will see the holes in the top and the 2nd pic has the bc threaded adapter on top of the cup.

That's looks great dude.

I'm curious to hear your updates on handling and durability as you start to drive with this setup.

always curious if these systems have a mechanical stop limit for reaching max height?

like... for the rear, the springs sit inside a cup, which itself is a piston.. so if you keep pumping air, the piston chamber will expand and the car goes up... so.. what's telling the rear to stop? or can you keep pumping air and the inner piston holding the spring in place can potentially shift out of the outter cup?

You lose about 1 inch for the cup width. Also depending on your springs they only have so much usable stroke.

There is a snap ring to hold the piston in place. When you install the setup you set sprin preloaded with the strut at it's extended length. So that will keep the spring in place since the cup can only extend the amount of strut that compresses when you lower the car up to the length of piston travel which is 3" in this case.

Spring rate and car weight will dictate how much the car compresses the strut under it's on static weight.

not sure if i missed this in between the subscription replies going to my email, but someone had mentioned in one of the two threads on this that this set up was stupid for avoiding road bumps etc as theres no way to react fast enough etc...

I know theres ways home, ways to and from stores in my neighborhood, friends houses i visit that i have mentally mapped in my mind with a far different path that i would take in a car that had ground clearence.

Everyone has a driveway they avoid daily.. could have a better parking spot but the speed bumps are too big etc.. thats what this is for and is a great idea.. and somewhat necessary.

sorry to rehash if it had been covered in the meantime.. jsut thought it beared mention for future "searchers" as well.. if those exist anymore lol.

correct. i think this is just strictly for very low-speed entry/exit from driveways and getting onto/off ramps... def not anything at driving speeds.. and even if u did, IMHO the weight transfer may cause early wear of the piston seals...

Either the front needs to go lower or the rear a bit higher.

Linked here from driver thanks for info and good install notes here, gonna show this page to my buddies at the shop who'll be doing the install for me.

I don't know what experience you had with Phantom, but I gotta say I didn't have any problems whatsoever with communication from them, they literally were calling me like the day before heading out to SEMA, and got in touch with me soon as they got back, and I'm up here in Canada.
Also they're making my rear cups to sit in the spring bucket with the OEM style setup, I actually wanted the opposite of you as I don't like the OEM style setup on the BC RAcing coils, it's tricky to adjust height.

You got any videos of the car in action ?
airing up and down and whatnot ??
thanks

My communication with Phantom, platinum VIP was brief. I would do business with either. They were much better than what I went through with Ravi from Umbrella. Ravi communicated it is just that he was kind of a jerk. His price is great though.

Pics of that cup when it is done. I will caution you though that the spring adjuster on the top may cause you some issues unless you are adjusting from the bottom. I liked having the cup on the spring adjuster since the mounting was already taken care of

I do not have a video. I actually am working on the controller for mine. It is going to be a windows to arduino microcontroller. Using bluetooth and custom code on both ends. It will monitor tank pressure, cup pressure and control the solenoids. Right now I have the oem seat heater buttons wired to control the up/down/compressor functions.

I really want another compressor since it takes forever to fill the 3 gallon tank.

The solenoids i purchased were not the best and leak some, gotta remedy that. It is in the npt fitting, not the quick connect.

I also mounted all the solenoids in the rear upper cubby behind the drivers seat. Nice and tucked away. I need to post more pics and updates.
