You have 4.1 inches before you touch down hard parts while running stock height tires. Most coilovers have the ability to slam your ride.

Vendor - Former Vendor
In any case you could probably go decently low on most coilovers.

A used set of Stance are really reasonable & you get what you pay for. If you're going to buy a junk set of coil overs, you might be just as well off with just doing springs or chopped springs.
Or are you wanting really low, really cheap, and bragging rights that you're on coil overs? Just trying to figure out your goals and reasons behind your choices.
BTW, my first set of Stance coils were sub $1k and put my car on the ground and my wheel wells resting on the tires before I adjusted them up… so I'd say they go as low as possible.
For example, a used set currently listed for $900: https://my350z.com/forum/east-canada...coilovers.html

my intentions are not too track/race the car nor to drift etc, and i dont want to go hellaflush either, im not into the stretched tire etc, i just want a low drop and thats it, im currently on skunk 2 springs and theyre pretty low but i want something adjustable, something i can raise and lower whenever id like, thats my whole intention on buying coilovers, so i can get a suspension thatll live up to what i paid for.

used-$500-$900 (depending on condition,miles,brand)
new-up to $1100 max
im not drifting/racing/tracking the car, just for daily driving, not going hellaflush either, just want something that can lower my car to the ground and raise it back to stock when i want too

It's a pain in the rear to go in and make adjustments, plus it's going to throw your alignment out of whack when you do. So you'll probably find that you use the adjustments until you find exactly what you like… and you never touch them again.
With that budget and those expectations, you should be fine. I would just suggest you buy something decent and consider the cost/possibility of rebuilds, etc. when you do your comparison shopping. If you're going to keep the car for a while, spend a little more. If you're young (most are likely to change cars faster than us old folks) or go through cars quickly, save your money and go as cheap as you can.

yeah thats def what im trying to go for, i usually switch up cars yearly, but for the Z i plan on keeping it for maybe up too 3 years, im currently in college so budget isnt too extreme right now, but just want something that will add a little more touch to my car, so do you think i can go really low on megans,d2's or how about tanabe sustec? i just want something thatll slam the car, no need for something too extreme considering i probably will never put them to their full potential, another reason why im asking is because i usually see people with coilovers saying theyre at the lowest drop and they look as low as my skunk 2 springs and i want to go a tad bit lower than that
