Default Rear brakes locking up. abs light vdc off light and slip light all on

I have tein coilover on my car and AP racing brakes. i just currently installed tein edfc.. after getting my car back from the shop. my brakes started locking up... i have no idea whats causing it.. my shop checked the wheel senors, g sensors, wheel bearings and abs unit. I just replaced my abs pump because he said that went bad and he thought that was going to solve the problem.. but its still locking up.. everything else seems to be working fine.. but my brakes lock up when i drive my car for a while... it seems to lock up when its getting hot and it would unlock itself usually in like 30 mins.... im thinking it might be my pistons going bad?? i just got new pads and rotors.. before i replaced them they were pretty wore up.. could that have maybe damaged my calipers?? any other possibilities?? thanks

i never had this problem before..until i had my edfc installed.. is there anyway incorrect wiring can cause this?? after i had my edfc installed.. as i was pulling outa the shop my brakes started lockign up.. i took it back to his shop and he said it was the rear brakes going out.. so i replaced the pads and rotors.. and i drove it home after that.. it was fine for a few days.. until i slammed on my brakes one day and then all of a sudden my rear brakes started locking up.. i took it back to my shop.. and thats when he replaced the abs pump.. but that still didnt fix the problem. my mechanic thinks it might be the steering angel sensor going out? someone backed up into my car a month ago.. and damaged the front of my car.. could that have thrown off the allignment and my steering angel sensor causing my abs to kick it?? any help is appreciated

if you unplug your abs motor, does it still do it?

actually if you abs light is on, then your abs should have faulted out and not be active anymore.

it locks up so that your rotors are smoking when you are driving?

i did some research and someone said it was the brake booster check valve that went bad.. i had my shop check that and it seems to be working fine... its not throwing any codes either.. so could it be mechanical?

could be the abs pump. Had a few friends with the same issue. did the shop give you a new pump or used? also the VDC can be causing the issue. I don't see how the tien equipment would hurt it as that is mostly independent system It most likely something in the braking system that has failed. Did the AP racing kit come new or used. I have the same kit and so does my friend his ABS did that but it never locked up on him. Mine have had no issue knock on wood.

Also if its locking up check your pedal man some thing has to give the brake booster pressure in order to engage the brakes. I don't believe there is anything that can electronically engage the brakes.

i had the AP racing brakes for a while, the abs pump was used but i dont think thats the problem. My shop checked all the sensors, wheel bearings, abs pump, brake booster, so he thought it was my calipers going bad. i took off my brakes and put my stock ones on and it still locked up on me after a day of driving. However, when it locked up, i pumped my brakes a few times and it unlocked fairly quickly.. before when it locked i didnt do that and i was stuck for 30 mins until the brakes unlocked itself.. so im guessing its either the brake master cylinder or brake booster thats bad??? but im running out of things to fix.. so i hope its on of those two..

Just tell your shop to keep throwing random parts at it at your expense, they'll find the problem eventually.

My front brakes were locking up, electronically. It was my steering angle sensor.

Take the brake fluid cap and push the plunger all the way down until the SLIP and VDC comes on. Reattach cap. See if it still locks up after that.

did you ever figure out what was the issue? I'm having the same problem. My VDC light, ABS light and Slip light are all on and the brakes seem to lock up. It is impossible to get the car in motion by feathering out the clutch, and I have to rev it, while riding the clutch. You can even feel the pressure in the brake pedal. I've tried a couple things such as changing out all the fuses in the IPDM, resetting the ecu, checking the brake fluid and changing the rotors and pads. Still locks up.

I have a feeling it's the ABS module which is at least 1G to replace… maybe the master cylinder getting stuck? I thought that would throw the Brake light though, rather than the ABS light…????
